Windy City Production

Windy City Production A Award Winning Photo & Video Team | Best Way to Connect is Via our Website WindyCityProduction.com "Happiness is a choice. You can choose to be happy.

When it comes to searching for a Wedding Photographer and/or Videographer the process can be anything but easy. The vast majority of Photographers and Videographers do not list their prices, and almost all of them limit company information to the bare minimum on their websites. After filling out the required contact form, in order to receive a price quote, it takes them days to respond. When they

finally get back to you they are all for explaining to you how their service is perfect for you without ever initially asking what your specific wedding photography and or videography needs are. The icing on the cake is their “over the top” push to send you a contract without ever personally meeting. I feel your pain and have dealt with many of the same frustrating challenges you have while planning my wedding. With that distraught experience forever engrained in my mind, we have built our company, as you will see, completely different. Our clients enjoy the process from start to finish, acknowledge how easy and fun it has been, and cherish the experience. Regardless of who your vendors are or how much your mother may drive you nuts with wedding plans, decide today to enjoy the journey. There’s going to be stress in life, but it’s your choice whether you let it affect you or not.” – Valerie Bertinelli

First and foremost Windy City Production is in business to capture our clients’ wedding day dependably, credibly, professionally, and artistically at an affordable value. We won’t try to convince you that we are the only wedding photographer and/or videographer around worth considering. It wouldn’t be true. What matters to us is that every couple finds the wedding photographer and/or videographer that is perfect for them and their specific needs. If you’re looking to save time, energy, and money all while liberating your wedding photo opportunities and/or receiving a Hollywood style cinematic wedding video then you have found the right company. Sounds to good to be true? We dare you to dig deeper, check into our reviews, portfolios, engagement pictures, cinematic wedding films, and wedding pictures. Even if you believe Windy City Production is not a good fit for your specific needs, we encourage you to take advantage of our website’s valuable resources. We have filled our website with insightful wedding tips, ideas, encouragement, liberating wedding photo tutorials, and lots of wedding videos. Who is Windy City Production:

As a business Windy City Production is an Award Winning wedding videography and wedding photography company that has had the honor of capturing countless weddings for couples to relive. It’s amazing to think that a single picture or film will be shared with hundreds of friends and family members, the couple’s children, and hopefully their children’s children. On the personal side we are teachers, leaders, financial consultants, problem solvers, teammates, friends, and a family. We enjoy sharing with all engaged couples wedding ideas and opportunities. Our business concepts and quality standards lead the wedding photography & videography industry. We offer a service(s) and product(s) at an affordable value all while saving couples time, energy, and thousands of dollars. On a day to day basis, we are fighting to find new solutions to industry, product, and service roadblocks. Our fair and honest business strategy encourages other vendors and future professionals that they too can succeed with hard work, determination, purpose, and quality work. We are friends to our clients and the company is a family of inspired believers in our greatest calling which leads us to the Why. Why:

Our greatest calling is to use our God gifted talent to the best of our ability. We certainly are not, and will never be, perfect as a company, but we are committed to continual improvement as photographers, videographers, and a company as a whole. For us the opportunity to learn something new, apply a new technique, try a new concept, and grow as a team keeps us inspired. Over the past year alone we have seen some dramatic wedding photography & videography service and product improvements. It is exciting to think what lays ahead. "You were born with potential. You were born with goodness and trust. You were born with ideals and dreams. You were born with greatness. You were born with wings. You are not meant for crawling, so don’t. You have wings. Learn to use them and fly.” – Rumi

When:

After graduation from St. Xavier I embraced the challenge of making my passion of wedding photography and videography my full-time career. Honestly, the challenge seemed at times too much to handle, however in those valleys I always found new strength and inspiration in amazing couples. Witnessing the couple’s vows, not a dry eye in the crowd, smiles contagiously spreading like a wildfire, and young passionate love, I can’t help but see myself in their shoes reliving my wedding day. Instantly my spirit is invigorated. Capturing and sharing the story of a brave child fighting leukemia lights your soul on fire. Making a meaningful difference in peoples’ lives has brought me to new soaring heights. Three years in and our opportunities continue to grow along with our wedding photography & videography abilities. Today I am stronger and more confident in our ability to make a difference more then ever before. My initial goal was to build one of the most affordable professional Chicago wedding photography & videography companies. That initial goal still stands, but we have added to it by stretching that goal to include a new market. Where:

Born and raised in the south suburbs of Chicago I will forever cherish this world class city. Unfortunately, Chicago is not immune to polar vortex winters and I am not a fan of -50 degree weather. While covering a destination wedding in Costa Rica we realized how much opportunity exists outside of Chicago. One in every four weddings is a destination wedding and the number one destination wedding market is Florida. Let’s not forget that Florida’s busy season is Chicago’s slow season. Don’t get me wrong, Windy City Production has and will continue to cover weddings year round in Chicago, but I am personally chasing a new dream. That dream has me in Florida, Costa Rica, Bahamas, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Jamaica covering destination weddings throughout the doldrums of winter. I am excited to explore the world and, of course, save Florida & destination wedding couples time, energy, and money. "When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you’ll be successful.” – Eric Thomas

How:

I’m not even sure how “How?” even fits in with the customary 5W’s. Regardless, I will touch on the principle of how Windy City Production captures our clients wedding day dependably, credibly, professionally, and artistically at an affordable value. Our foundational principle is the Golden Rule, which encourages us to do unto others as you would want them to do unto you. It might sound cliché, but that rule has pushed us to be the best we can even when we might not feel like doing so. That rule also encourages us to partner with couples who respect a mutual relationship. We want this relationship to be a win for you and a win for us. Anything other leads to a broken relationship, which results in someone losing out and hard feelings. We will continue to do our best to capture your day, and in return we ask that you embrace our mutual relationship and adopt the Golden Rule. Yes, we are doing what we love to do, but there definitely were valleys and unfortunate times when a rare few have tried to taint our reputation, rip us off, bully our team members, and curse our future. We will not focus on the far and few negative couples we have mistakenly taken on as clients. Our Golden Rule principle has and will continue to lead us in the right direction as photographer, videographers, and individuals. "Be the change you want to see in this world.” – Gandhi

Solo. Photo AND cinema. Same-day edit delivered that night. This is Episode 4 of The Hourglass Hour and Sam is pulling back the curtain on what hybrid coverage actually looks like at its highest level — including a shoutout to Jasmine & Dominic, the couple who made that proof possible. 🎬📸

Then things get wild. Sam built a fully interactive wedding day timeline tool — live on the site right now — and walks you through exactly how it works in real time. Yes, he vibe-coded it with Claude at 2am. Yes, it's incredible.

And then? Katie surprised him with a gallery of their own family photos. Raw, real, unscripted. The most human moment yet on this show.

One shooter. Photo AND cinema. The entire wedding day. One vision. That's hybrid — and almost nobody's doing it, and almost nobody's talking about it correctly.
Tonight on Episode 3 of the Hourglass Hour, I'm pulling back the curtain on Sebastian & Emma's hybrid wedding edit and answering the question I get every single time: "Won't you miss moments with only one shooter?" Spoiler — it was never about the number of shooters. It's about the experience of the shooter. And rather than argue it, I'll just hand you the receipts 👉 https://windycityproduction.com/hybrid/
Fair warning: I fell down the AI rabbit hole again this week. 🕳️🐇 No promises I don't drag you down there with me.
🎁 TWO FREE MINI SESSIONS up for grabs today. Here's how: DM us your single greatest fear about trusting one hybrid shooter with your entire day. I'll pick two and personally send you the details to lock it in.
You don't have to like me. You don't have to love me. But what you can always expect is extraordinary effort and extraordinary work. ⏳

Something new drops tonight at 7 PM Central.

Monday through Thursday. One hour at a time. When the sand runs out, we're done.

This is the real version of running a wedding photography and videography studio for fourteen years. The editing. The gear. The weddings we're proud of. The old footage that makes me cringe. The wife who's learned to expect the "what if we…" texts. The three kids. The bikes I can't ride anymore.

If you're a couple thinking about hiring a wedding photographer — this is a window into who you're actually trusting with the most important day of your life, before you book.

If you're a fellow shooter building your own thing — pull up a chair.

There may or may not be a surprise giveaway at the end of tonight's episode.

7 PM Central tonight. The Hourglass — Episode 1.

Posting this feels strange.
Katie and I are private people. We tell other people's love stories for a living — not our own.
It's too easy to measure your life against everyone else's highlights and miss the gritty parts where the actual living happens. I'd rather chase the gritty version. So fair warning — the video is a highlight reel. The post below is the rest of the story.
This past year demanded grit, and our son Lion deserves to know what the world looked like the year he arrived.
365 days of figuring it out.
April 17, 2025 | Four months off the bike, recovering from surgery in Mexico, no fitness. I pointed a wheel east in San Diego and rode to Cottonport, Louisiana — 29 straight days, learning to be a cyclist in real time. After Ironman Panama City, I picked up the line in St. Augustine and rode west, 11 more days to Cottonport. 3,000 miles. Coast to coast. No peak form. Just momentum.
I crossed an Ironman finish line in Florida. I swam the Todos Santos 10K 30 hours after stomach flu, in a washing machine ocean with whales and sea lions and a wetsuit that tore my arms raw — salt, blood, friction, just forward motion. I dove deeper in Baja than I ever have. I speared a roosterfish I shouldn't have. After three years of stubbornness, I finally took a kiteboarding lesson — got dragged, stepped on a stingray, rode anyway.
What the highlight reel doesn't show: a 100-mile South Carolina ultra I couldn't finish, a Utah climb I kept promising myself, 2,000 pull-ups that stayed an idea, and mornings I asked if I could do it again today, and evenings I had to answer.
I used to think I was chasing the adventures. They were chasing me — training me for something.
The Southern Tier taught me you don't ride 3,000 miles — you take one pedal stroke, thousands of times. The 10K taught me that when control disappears, you stop fighting and breathe. Spearfishing taught me a patience I didn't think I had. The kite taught me to respect the wind. The misses taught me you don't find your limits by winning — you find them by pushing until something pushes back.
And then Lion arrived.
Every lesson came back the first night. The next mile. One pedal stroke. Stop fighting and breathe. Show up imperfect.
I've finished a lot of things this year. None come close to this: my wife Katie, my daughters Faith and Hope, and now our son Lion. They are my greatest adventure. Everything else was just training.
Welcome to the world, Lion. Dad's been training for you.

“Hello, beautiful!” echoes in my ears as I think about all the times I walked through the garage to enter the house. You couldn’t make it much farther than the dining room table before seeing him—arms wide open, a big smile on his face, ready to give you a warm hug. Grandpa was the best hugger. He always held on just a little longer and whispered in your ear, “Love you, kid.” He loved us all so much. And though our hearts feel heavy at times as we ride this wave of emotions, I can’t help but reflect on how blessed we were to have him for as long as we did—and to still have Grandma with us, too. Grandpa Jack, 95, was truly one of a kind. When I think about his life, I’m struck by how extraordinary it was.

Married to Grandma for 69 years, he lived a good and full life. All his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are alive and well, without any major tragedies that could have touched our family. He was active, loved to travel, and had quite the stories to tell—though sometimes we had to pry a little to get him to open up.

He loved taking photos with his trusty point-and-shoot camera, printing them out—usually the next day—and hanging them proudly on the wall…

…I could go on forever about the memories that keep flooding my mind: the Tootsie Rolls, Kisses, and gumdrops they always set out for us to sneak; the refrigerator always stocked with Pepsi; our sing-along Christmas songs to The Sound of Music; the salami gifted to each family at Christmas( his birthday). If we were cold, he’d grab us a “Grandpa sweater” to wear. I remember the necklace he never took off, the way he danced with Grandma, the antique rowing machine in the basement—and most of all, how bittersweet it felt to see him with my girls. That’s the Grandpa I’ll always remember: a man who loved his family so deeply and looked at all of us the same way he looked at Hope and Faith.

My list could go on forever, but family—if you feel like sharing your own memories, I would love to hear them.

Grandpa’s legacy will continue to live on through his four children, ten grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.

I love you all!
