There is something about photographing a parent with their child that gets me every single time.

Because this moment is fleeting.

The little hands reaching for yours.
The way they still fit perfectly in your arms.
The belly laughs. The sleepy cuddles. The way they look at you like you are their whole world.

One day, these moments will change.

The arms that once carried them will hold them differently. The little hands will grow. The voices will deepen. And the version of your child standing beside you today will exist only in your memories.

We spend so much of our lives waiting for the next thing.

The next birthday.
The next milestone.
The next season.

But this season you are in right now?

It will never belong to you again.

That is why I believe so deeply in photographs.

Not perfect photographs.
Not posed photographs.
The real ones.

The ones that let you remember how small they were, how you held them, how they laughed, and how it felt to be together in this exact chapter of your life.

If I can give a parent that gift, I feel incredibly lucky.

Because someday, these photographs won't just be pictures.

They'll be pieces of a life you once got to live.

And right now, you are living it.

One day, you’re going to miss this version of them.

The missing front tooth.
The way they still reach for your hand.
The laugh that comes out before they can stop it.
The little quirks you know by heart.

And someday, those things will change.

That’s why I love what I get to do.

Not just take pretty pictures, but preserve a little piece of right now for you to hold onto.

Yesterday I shared that I’m taking on a much smaller number of photography families this year as I make more room for my publishing business.

So if family photos have been sitting on your “we really need to do that” list, I wanted to put this back on your radar.

I have a limited number of dates available for the remainder of 2026.

A little change this year… ❤️

I’ve made the decision to intentionally shorten my session calendar this year so I can give more time and attention to another business I’m building.

That means I’ll be taking on a select number of families for sessions this year rather than filling my calendar like I have in the past.

If you’ve been thinking about booking a session, I wouldn’t wait too long. Once this year’s spots are filled, I’ll be closing the calendar.

I’m looking forward to seeing some familiar faces, meeting some new ones, and making the most of the sessions I do have on the calendar. 🤍

I am scaling back this year on sessions so be sure the date you need.
