As photographers, we’re often behind the camera documenting history, culture, and community—but every now and then, it’s important to step away from creating and simply experience the work of others.

I had the opportunity to attend Through Our Eyes at One Contemporary Gallery, and it was such a beautiful reminder of the power of photography to tell stories that connect us. Featuring the incredible work of Sheila Pree Bright along with Nicole Craine, Julie Yarbrough, and Ysa Lopez, the exhibition explores Atlanta, community, sports culture, and the stories that bring people together as the city welcomes the FIFA World Cup.

One of my favorite parts was seeing professional women photographers celebrated in a gallery space and witnessing how each artist interpreted Atlanta through their own unique lens. As a photographer myself, it was both inspiring and affirming.

If you’re in Atlanta, I highly recommend making time to see it before it closes on July 26. Whether you’re an artist, photographer, or simply someone who appreciates visual storytelling, this exhibition is worth experiencing.
