This is Leila, photographed at nine days old in my studio.
Her mom came to me for maternity photos earlier this year, so we already had a relationship by the time Leila arrived. That makes a difference. Mom came in calm and trusting, and Leila was an absolute dream from start to finish.
The session was built around a soft floral theme, rose, lilac, cream and white, with a classic Winnie the Pooh setup worked in at the end to match her nursery. The combination was perfect.

Almost every woman who contacts me about a maternity session leads with some version of "I'm not sure I'm the type of person who does this."

Too uncomfortable with how they look. Too busy. Waiting until they feel more ready.

The thing is, ready doesn't really come. Not during pregnancy.
The women who push through that uncertainty and book almost always tell me afterward they're glad they did. Not because the photos are perfect. Because they have something real from a time in their life that passed faster than they expected.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Motherhood changes so much over the years.

One day you’re rocking babies to sleep and carrying snacks everywhere… and before you know it, you’re coordinating schedules just to get everyone together again.

Today I am celebrating Mother’s Day with my son Dylan. And honestly, just being together is what matters most to me now.

To all the mothers in every season — the new moms, the exhausted moms, the waiting moms, the grieving moms, the grown-kid moms — I hope you feel deeply loved and celebrated today.

Six weeks, four countries… and Japan was the perfect ending.

Japan was the perfect final stop.
We went from cherry blossoms in Osaka 🌸 to temples and history in Kyoto, to a deeply moving day in Hiroshima, and ended in the chaos-meets-magic of Tokyo.

Japan = clean, organized, efficient… and absolutely addictive.

Also, we fully participated in the national sports of:�- buying shoes at Onitsuka Tiger�- over-shopping at Don Quijote and Uniqlo�- and turning a “light pack” into a third suitcase situation

Worth it.

planned the entire trip—four countries, endless logistics, zero disasters—and somehow made it all feel easy.

Still not sure how he did it… but I’m not questioning it.
