The number one question I get: What do I wear for my senior session? Your outfits set the entire tone of your gallery, so let’s talk about it. 🌿
Start with color. Earthy tones like sage, rust, and cream photograph beautifully in Colorado light. Soft blues and muted greens look stunning against our natural backdrops. Rich jewel tones absolutely pop at golden hour. Small patterns work well, but avoid busy patterns and logos. Steer clear of harsh neon or overly bright colors – they can cast unexpected color onto your skin in natural light.
Don’t overlook the details. Shoes show up in more shots than you’d expect – choose wisely, they can be the star accessory. Keep makeup matte and skip the glitter, it throws off too much light. Bring a few jewelry options to switch up the vibe between looks. And consider a meaningful accessory – a necklace, a football, a hat, something that feels like you. It adds so much personality to your gallery!
For the guys – a simple button down or polo adds a beautiful pop of color and gives such a clean, classic feel.
For the ladies – a flowy dress moves gorgeously with the Colorado breeze.
Did you plan an outfit change? Go for one casual, one more elevated. Changing the vibe between looks gives you so much more variety to choose from.
And if you’re shooting in the fall – think layers. Flannels, denim jackets, linen. They add incredible texture and dimension.
Save this for when you start planning your session! 📌
