People ask me why I’m a photographer, and she is my reason. From her first day to her last, she was my built in best friend and confidant. 13 months younger, my Irish twin. Things weren’t easy, growing up in hospitals wasn’t fun, communication was definitely different, but she was my all.
The last picture on this post is the last photo of her before she passed. We’d just finished watching 50 First Dates and needed a nap. Hers just didn’t end.
Photos never die. We look at them year after year after year to remember what once was. To remember how we age. To remember what we forget. I became a photographer because I wanted to capture those moments for other people. To help them remember. To preserve memories forever.
Screaming long live on what would be your 35 birthday today, Allison. Forever 15. Forever remembered. I love you and miss you more than words can ever describe.
Side note, it’s also Potter’s 9th birthday and also I will be out of office today 🫶🏼💜
