Today is the National Park Service’s birthday!
The NPS was established on August 25, 1916, when President Woodrow Wilson signed the act creating the National Park Service, making this the 110th anniversary.
In celebration, participating national parks are waiving entrance fees as part of National Park Week.
Go outside. Explore a national park. Experience the wild places that belong to all of us.
And remember, protecting them is all of our responsibility.

I have photographed every lighthouse in Florida, with the exception of a few off shore. Below are a few shots from Dry Tortugas National Park (Fort Jefferson) on Garden Key, located 70 miles west of Key West, Florida. It includes the Loggerhead Key Lighthouse photo taken when I asked the Float Plane pilot to deviate a couple miles west to Loggerhead (3 miles west of Garden Key) to get a shot of its lighthouse. Enjoy and congratulations to the National Park System. I have visited now 30 of the 63 NP's!
