I have so many families I love to photograph and their common thread is that they are always truly themselves. I welcome all types of families - even the ones with the crazy kids! Since becoming a mom, I’ve gotten even better at what to expect from small children, how to get them comfortable, and how to set families up for success in their sessions. Letting kids lead the way and just be themselves is at the core of what I do.
I’ve been photographing families for nearly 10 years now and I hope that my clients trust my process, trust that I can direct them to make the best location and timing decisions, as well as make them comfortable in front of the camera (I know family photos can be so stressful, no matter the ages of kids!).
And then sometimes I go to try something new - like for this long time client - and it kinda flops with the parking situation and the crowds. But despite it all, we still got incredible photos that I know they’ll always cherish. That’s the mark of a professional who’s been in the game awhile and can keep cool when things go sideways (even if it’s out of our control!).
