Here's something I get asked about a lot: "Can you do a twilight shot without coming back to the property?"

The two photos above are the same house.

Same drone angle. Same day. The daytime shot is the original. The twilight version was created in post-processing — no second trip, no waiting for a 20-minute weather window, no coordinating schedules around the perfect evening.

Why does this matter for your listing? Twilight exteriors consistently outperform daytime shots as the hero image on Zillow. The warm interior light triggers something psychological — buyers see a home, not just a house. It looks lived-in, inviting. Daytime exteriors show a structure. Twilight shows a feeling.

The practical reason agents love the virtual version: actual dusk gives you a 15–20 minute window on a specific evening that requires perfect weather and a house that's show-ready and lit up inside. A virtual twilight can be created from any clean daytime exterior shot, with no additional scheduling, even after the shoot is long over.

One thing I always do: disclose that the image is digitally enhanced. Most MLS systems permit virtual twilight the same way they permit virtual staging — the house still looks exactly like itself, we've just shown it in its best light. Literally.

If you've got a listing with a strong exterior and want to see whether a twilight cover image moves the needle, reach out — happy to talk through it.

Most hosts don't think much about detail shots. That's actually a huge opportunity.

Wide angles show the room. But this photo? This is what makes someone stop scrolling and actually book.

A yellow locker nightstand. A guitar on the wall. Concrete meets warm wood paneling. A snake plant catching the light just right. Every single thing in this frame is telling a guest something about what it feels like to stay here — before they've read a single word of the listing description.

I've shot a lot of Airbnbs and VRBOs around Seattle, and the hosts who get the most consistent bookings aren't always the ones with the biggest spaces. They're the ones whose listings feel like somewhere worth staying. And a big part of that comes down to whether the photographer took five extra minutes to get into the corners and shoot the details.

It also just builds trust. Guests who can see the quality of the little things — the lamp, the hardware, the plants — show up with better expectations and leave better reviews. That's not a small thing when you're trying to maintain a high rating.

If your listing photos are all wide shots, you're probably leaving some bookings on the table. Worth thinking about next time you refresh your photos for spring or summer.

Empty room → Dream bedroom. This is the power of virtual staging. 🛏️✨

That wood slat accent wall and platform bed frame were always stunning. But most buyers scrolling through listings at 10pm can't visualize it — they see an empty room and keep scrolling.

Virtual staging fixes that problem instantly.

Same room. Same natural light. Same incredible view of the trees and water. We just gave buyers something to feel.

Here's what changed:

🪵 Warm Scandinavian bed frame that works WITH the existing platform
🧶 Layered linen bedding and chunky knit throw for texture
💡 Ambient nightstand lamp that brings warmth to the wood tones
🪑 Boucle accent chair + olive tree to fill the corner naturally
🖼️ Minimal art that doesn't compete with that statement wall

The result? A room that photographs like a boutique hotel — and makes buyers picture themselves waking up to that view every morning.

Virtual staging typically costs a fraction of physical staging and can be turned around in 24 hours. For vacant new construction like this, it's one of the highest-ROI moves a seller or agent can make.

Curious what your vacant listing could look like? Drop a comment or send us a message — we're happy to show you an example with a similar space. 👇

🏠 Take a virtual walk-through of this charming Ballard townhouse — without leaving your couch!

We had a great time capturing this remodeled NW Craftsman at 2005 NW 59th St, Seattle for agent Nathan Butcher of John L. Scott Bellingham. The 3D tour is live and it's the best way to experience everything this home has to offer before scheduling a showing.

What makes this one worth exploring:
✅ Open-concept kitchen & living room with butcher block counters and stainless appliances
✅ Reclaimed open-slat stairs from the old Ballard firehouse (yes, really)
✅ Fully-fenced backyard with a storage shed — perfect for the PNW adventurer
✅ 99 Walk Score — corner of Ballard's best neighborhood
✅ Garage already set up as a flex second bedroom
✅ No HOA · $619,000

Pop quiz: What's the #1 thing buyers wish every listing included?
It's not drone shots. It's not a 3D tour. (Though those help.)
It's a floor plan.

Think about the last time you browsed listings online. You're swiping through photos trying to mentally stitch together how the kitchen connects to the living room, whether the bedrooms are on the same side of the unit, and if that hallway closet is actually usable or just decorative.

It's exhausting. And most buyers give up and move on to the next listing.

That's the problem floor plans solve — instantly. One image, and the entire layout clicks.

Take this 2-bed, 1-bath unit we recently photographed. The photos looked great, but the floor plan is what tells the real story: a spacious primary bedroom with a walk-in closet (7'5" x 8'9" — that's legit storage), in-unit laundry, a private deck off the living room, and a kitchen that connects to the main living space without feeling cramped.

A buyer looks at that floor plan and immediately knows: "My furniture fits. The layout works for how I live. I'm booking a showing."

Without it? They're guessing. And guessing buyers don't write offers.

Here's a stat that surprised me when I first heard it: listings with floor plans receive up to 52% more engagement than those without. That tracks with what I see shooting 5,000+ properties — agents who include floor plans consistently report more qualified showings and fewer "this isn't what I expected" walkthroughs.

Quick tip if you're selling: Even if your photographer doesn't offer floor plans, you can often find your property's original floor plan through your county assessor's office or HOA documents. It won't be as polished as a professional schematic, but it's better than nothing.

And if you want the polished version — with accurate room dimensions, clean formatting, and professional presentation — that's part of what we deliver with every listing package. Photos, drone, 3D tour, floor plan, all back to you within 24 hours.
Your listing tells a story. Make sure buyers can follow the plot. 🏠

Here's a question I get from agents all the time: "Is virtual staging actually worth it for a vacant listing?"

Let me show you instead of telling you.

📷 Same Seattle living room. Same camera angle. Same natural light.

The only difference? The second photo was virtually staged — and it completely changes how the space reads.

Here's what's happening psychologically:

In the empty version, your eye has nowhere to land. The room could be any size. There's no warmth, no story, no emotional pull. It's technically a living room, but it doesn't feel like one.
I
n the staged version, suddenly there's scale (oh, a full sofa AND chair fit comfortably). There's lifestyle (those books, that throw blanket, the plants). There's a feeling of "I could live here."

The data backs it up:
→ 73% of listing agents say staged homes sell faster
→ Virtual staging runs about $40/room vs. $500+ for physical staging per room
→ Staged listings photograph dramatically better for MLS and Zillow

The honest truth: if your vacant listing isn't getting the showings you expected, the photos might be the bottleneck — not the price.

Quick tip if you're going the DIY route: even just digitally adding a rug, sofa, and coffee table can transform how buyers perceive the space online. But if you want the full treatment with professional photography to match, that's our specialty.

Curious what this would look like for your listing? Drop a comment or send us a message — happy to chat.

That moment when your morning coffee comes with a view of Pike Place Market and Puget Sound. ☕

This downtown Seattle condo has something most vacation rentals struggle to capture in photos: a view that actually sells the experience. But here's the thing—views through windows are notoriously tricky to photograph. Shoot at the wrong time, and you get either a blown-out white rectangle or a perfectly exposed view with a cave-dark interior.

The secret? Timing and exposure blending. This shot was captured when the afternoon sun was high enough to light the interior naturally while the outdoor light wasn't overpowering. The result: guests can see exactly what they're waking up to.

Quick tip for Airbnb hosts: If your listing has a view, photograph it between 10am-2pm on a clear day. Position your camera to show context—that reading nook, the comfortable chair, the lifestyle someone could be living. Views sell better when guests can picture themselves enjoying them.

This condo is now live on Airbnb, ready to welcome guests who want that quintessential Seattle experience—market strolls, waterfront walks, and golden hour from their living room.

Don't let your Seattle condo listing stop at the front door! 🚪✨

In the world of Airbnb and Vrbo, you aren't just renting a bed; you’re selling a lifestyle. If your building has a high-end fitness center, a spa-like sauna, or a stunning indoor pool, and those photos aren't on your listing—you're losing bookings.

Prospective guests filter for amenities. High-quality visuals of these shared spaces: ✅ Justify Higher Nightly Rates: Guests pay more for "resort-style" living. ✅ Increase Trust: Professional photos of the lobby and facilities show the building is secure and well-maintained. ✅ Beat the Competition: Most hosts skip the common areas. This is your chance to stand out.

At Photos in the House, we capture the full guest experience—from the first step into the lobby to the morning workout in the gym.

Ready to maximize your ROI? Let’s document your building’s best features.

In the Seattle short-term rental market, guests don’t just buy a place to sleep—they buy an experience. We recently photographed this stunning Airbnb in Eastlake, and the goal was simple: prove to potential guests that this is the perfect launchpad for their Seattle adventure.

When photographing a rental property, we look for three things:

Lifestyle Triggers: It’s not just a coffee maker; it’s the promise of a fresh morning brew before hitting the city. It’s not just a table; it’s a game night waiting to happen.

Space & Flow: Using professional lighting and wide-angle architectural techniques, we showed exactly how the compact, modern kitchen flows into the unique vertical layout of the home.

The "Hero" Shot: You can't beat a telephoto view of the Space Needle at sunset. It instantly validates the location value.

For hosts and property managers, professional photography is the highest ROI investment you can make. It stops the scroll, justifies your nightly rate, and fills your calendar.

Does your listing need a refresh? Let’s make your property stand out.
