Being a creative small business owner can be exhausting! In order to be the best for my clients, here's a few things that fuel me up (or keep me from being drained):
1. A long morning routine - when I wake up in the morning (without my phone by my bed!), I have a long morning to journal, reflect, read and pray. It's a great way to slow down and remember what matters most. My first moments of the day are not filled with input.
2. I delete all social media off my phone after every workday - This seems so extra, but it works wonders. Social media has become a work tool, and because of that I turn it off (aka delete) when the workday is done, so I can be present with my family and friends.
3. I limit the amount of sessions I take on - It can be so easy to want all the work, but I find that saying "no" means that I have space and freedom to be creative with each session I say "yes" to.
4. I go to the gym twice a week, before work - This a new habit I started in January this year and have actually kept up with! My body, more than others, needs movement to think the best, so moving my body before I work wakes up my mind. I find that I am more productive on the days I go to the gym, even though I work less hours.
I have a lot more, but I'll stop there. What are some things that fuel you as a small business owner? Share in the comments so we can all take inspiration from one another! 👇
