The wow’s of bird photography. I was trying to capture some good shots of an adult male Rudy-throated hummingbird. The majority of the birds were females or juveniles feeding in the garden. Then I saw this male. His name was either Speedy or Wildman because he never sat still and tried to lay claim to all of the flowers. I thought I had my chance but then a “jumping leaf” photobombed my shot! Bird photography is not always easy!

Side note, the white powder on the head is pollen. As I post more images, look at how the parts of the blue sal is flower lie across the top of the head, depositing pollen.
