Babies don’t always follow the plan.... and that’s completely okay! 🤍

For this studio family shoot, Hart brought Ruby's family through a few different backdrops to create a variety of looks and moments, while making sure her 7 month old baby was happy and comfortable throughout the session.

Many parents have dubbed him the “𝒃𝒂𝒃𝒚 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒓” for a reason 😄

Your home doesn’t have to be big, spotless, or perfectly styled for beautiful family photos 🤍

For young families, especially with little ones under 5, keeping the shoot short and engaging makes all the difference. They have very little attention span, and the longer the shoot goes, the more tired everyone gets.

For Guo Wei’s family, Hart photographed them at home with their 1-year-old — and the whole shoot was wrapped up in less than 40 minutes.

A little space, a few good angles, and lots of patience are often all you need to capture those tiny expressions and genuine moments that make your family, your family.

What if I told you...

The most important part of a family photoshoot isn't the photos?

It's not about smiling perfectly.
It's not about matching outfits.
And trust me... nobody has ever looked back and said,

"𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝒎𝒚 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓." 😄

I think a family photoshoot is really about one thing...

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭, 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞. 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫.

Because time is strange.

You can always make more money.
You can buy a bigger house.

Recently, I watched a family flip through an album we'd made recently.

The parents smiled.

But it was the children who surprised me.

They laughed.
They pointed at the photos.
They remembered stories.

That's when it hit me...

These black and white photographs were taken back between 2006 to early 2012. More than nearly 2 decades later, they still feel just as relevant, meaningful and precious today.

No trending props. No elaborate sets. No distraction. Just children being themselves. Just parents, grandparents connecting through simple moments that have only grown more valuable with time.
