📌 ISIS, Al-Qaeda & the Revival of an Ancient Disease: The Khawaarij

They call it “jihad.”
They call it “Islamic revival.”
They claim they’re standing for the Ummah.
But in reality — ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and their likes are nothing but modern-day Khawaarij.
The Prophet ﷺ warned us clearly — not just about their actions, but their very ideology.
🗡 He ﷺ said:
“They will recite the Qur’an but it will not go beyond their throats. They will go out of the religion as the arrow goes through the prey.”
📘 Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī & Muslim
🔻 They:
— Declare takfīr upon Muslims for sins
— Spill Muslim blood without hesitation
— Reject the scholars of Sunnah
— Obey emotion over revelation
— Fight legitimate Muslim rulers
— Call to “Islamic rule” while opposing Islamic methodology
These were the very signs of the first sect to split from the Ummah: the Khawaarij — whom the Prophet ﷺ called “dogs of the Hellfire.”
📚 Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān, Shaykh ʿUbayd al-Jābirī, Shaykh Rabeeʿ ibn Hādī al-Madkhalī, Shaykh ʿAbdullāh al-Bukhārī and the scholars of the Salafi Da‘wah all declared ISIS and Al-Qaeda as Khawaarij — and warned the youth from falling into their deception.
But sadly, many still get fooled by:
❌ Emotional videos
❌ Heroic slogans
❌ “State” banners and black flags
❌ Misused Qur’an verses about jihād
❌ Takfīr-fueled speeches on injustice
🔥 Yet their path only leads to:
— Death
— Fitnah
— Chaos
— The fire of Jahannam — just as the Prophet ﷺ foretold
🎯 Real Islam doesn’t begin with rebellion.
It begins with Tawḥīd, Sunnah, knowledge, patience, and correct manhaj.
So if you see someone sympathizing with ISIS, Al-Qaeda, or other militant deviants — know they are walking the path of the Khawaarij.
Call them back. Warn them. Refute their ideology with clarity.
Because there is only one Saved Sect — and it is NOT the one that sheds blood in the name of religion.

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) said:
"If those who give Sadaqah [charity] knows that their Sadaqah falls on Allah (Taʿālā)'s Hand before the hand of the poor, then surely, the joy of giving would be more than the joy of receiving."
[Madārij Al-Sālikīn]
May Allah accept from us all. May He write us among those who gave when giving was hardest, and loved Him when it mattered most.
