Just saw the new He-man and the Masters of the Universe. If you're worried about the earth scenes...those work well given the context. If you are also worried about Jared Leto as Skeletor...Skeletor is great and you won't even know it's Jared Leto.

The movie felt a lot like the Disney+ series Ahsoka. If this was an animated movie then this would have been perfect. It is very campy, actually too campy for my liking, and too cookie cutter. Think somewhere between Thor Ragnarok and Love and Thunder sprinkled with a little Guardians of the Galaxy and you get this movie. It is too on the nose for me. The tone shifts drastically in between dramatic scenes and the goofiness.

To be technical...this has a Director problem. Travis Knight has only bumblebee under his belt and you feel the unseasoned director's take on the movie. Which is ironic coz I had high hopes for this just because Travis is directing.

Overall this felt like a satire or a parody of Thor dressed up as He-Man. Mortal Kombat still holds the title of a fun summer movie.

Several months ago an upstart food truck business made a big leap to a larger stage and open up a Food Court branch at SM City. They believed that their food is worth more than being just another hole in the wall place. If your food is as good as theirs...they deserve world class photos. When their food photos got featured next to National Brands...I think we did good if not better.

The New Mandalorian and Grogu is out in theaters! If you're asking if this is but a glorified TV Series or TV Movie...well...kinda. It is still a fun and a thrillride of a movie. Don't expect any major event happening or any connection to a larger galaxy wide threat. The show was about a small corner of the galaxy and the movie remains as such. References to John Wick however are definitely true. It's not hard to imagine similarities between the High Table and mercenaries for hire with what mando is...a bounty hunter.

note: No prior homework needed, no major spoilers to avoid, and no end credits. so go home as soon as the credits roll.

Mortal Kombat II is out in theaters for over a week now. If you haven't seen it or thought it was going to be another bad Video Game movie then you're wrong!!! You should go watch it this weekend. The 1995 flick was a classic with its novelty and failures. The sequel was cringey. The 2021 reboot of sorts was a ok, more misses than hits. But this one...this... just pressed all the right buttons. Mortal Kombat rose to notoriety due to it's violence and gore. You simply got that with this. Everything you expected and wanted from an MK movie...they delivered. The plot of course is thin, but was well explained for those new to the franchise. Characters were serviceable at worst and memorable and funny at best. Karl Urban leads the cast as Johnny Cage and the legendary Hiroyuki Sanada returns as Scorpion. CG was mostly at par. Fight Choreo was well done. And if you are a lifelong MK fan....there are tons and tons of MK easter eggs carefully sprinkled throughout the movie. Overall....this is just Dumbfun!! Probably the best Video Game Fighter Movie up until Street Fighter releases later this year.
