History of Route 5800 Studio
Route 5800 Studio was built on passion, creativity, and a mission to bring professional-quality portraits closer to the people of Capiz. From its humble beginnings as a photobooth business to becoming the first self-shoot portrait studio in the province, the journey reflects resilience, innovation, and a deep love for photography. Photobooth Beginnings (2017β2018)
The story of Route 5800 Studio began in 2017 with a simple idea β providing fun and memorable experiences through photobooth services at events such as birthdays, weddings, and corporate gatherings. The photobooth quickly became a favorite in Capiz, as it combined photography with entertainment, allowing guests to enjoy instant prints and keepsakes. Because of its growing popularity, the business took a bold step forward in 2018 by opening its first physical studio at the Capiz Business Center. This marked the transition from event-based services to a more stable and professional photography setup. At this time, the studio focused on traditional portrait photography, catering to families, graduates, and professionals who wanted studio-quality portraits. Even as the business expanded, the photobooth service remained a staple. It continued to be one of Route 5800βs most in-demand offerings, especially at private events and celebrations β a reminder of where the studioβs journey first began. The Pandemic Halt (2020)
By March 2020, everything changed. Like many businesses worldwide, Route 5800 Studio faced an unexpected and devastating challenge brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. Health protocols, restrictions on gatherings, and lockdowns made it impossible to continue studio operations. The doors of the Capiz Business Center studio had to be closed, and the team faced the difficult reality of pausing the business indefinitely. This was a time of uncertainty and reflection, but also a period of planning and reimagining. Instead of viewing the closure as an end, Route 5800 saw it as a chance to think about new possibilities for when the world would open up again. Pop-Up Studio Era (2022β2023)
As restrictions slowly eased and communities adapted to a new normal, Route 5800 Studio made its comeback in 2022β2023. This return wasnβt through a permanent location yet, but through pop-up studios, focusing mainly on graduation pictorials in different schools and venues. These temporary setups brought photography back to the people at a time when celebrations were cautiously resuming. Graduating students, who had gone through years of disrupted schooling due to the pandemic, finally had the chance to mark their achievements with proper portraits. The photobooth service also made its return, as small gatherings and events began again. Its presence kept Route 5800 closely tied to its roots, offering both nostalgia and fun for clients who had known the studio since its earliest years. A Permanent Home & Self-Shoot Innovation (2023βPresent)
In 2023, Route 5800 Studio entered its most important chapter yet: the opening of its permanent home along Fuentes Drive. This milestone was not just about having a new studio space; it represented stability, growth, and a renewed vision for the future. With the opening of this new studio came a groundbreaking addition to Capizβs creative scene β the introduction of the first self-shoot portrait studio in the province. This concept gave clients a completely new experience: the freedom to take their own portraits using professional-grade lighting, cameras, and backdrops, while still benefiting from studio-quality post-processing. Whether alone, with friends, partners, or family, clients could now capture authentic moments at their own pace while still enjoying professional results. At the same time, Route 5800 continued to keep the photobooth service alive, making it one of the few studios in the area that offers a blend of modern innovations and timeless event services. Today
Now fully operating at its Fuentes Drive studio, Route 5800 Studio has become a trusted name for both traditional portraits and self-shoot sessions. It remains a go-to choice for families, students, professionals, and groups who want high-quality photos for milestones and celebrations. Importantly, the photobooth service that started it all in 2017 is still available today, continuing to bring joy to birthdays, weddings, reunions, and corporate events. This lasting service stands as a reminder of the studioβs roots while its innovations reflect how far it has come. From humble beginnings to becoming a pioneer in self-shoot portraiture in Capiz, Route 5800 Studio continues to embody its guiding belief: quality time, quality portraits.
