As marks her 20th year in showbiz, she reflects on a journey defined by hard work and resilience. From introducing herself as the “Chinita Princess” of Cebu to becoming a multi-hyphenate queen, Kim believes that life’s fair share of ups and downs is exactly what has made her truly blessed and empowered.

Looking back, she said, “I’m proud of myself today for standing up despite all the challenges being thrown at me.”

Kim, who has had over 30 covers with METRO throughout the years, reunites with the publication for a summer special in celebration of her milestones as both a woman and an artist. Japan after dark was the real test.
Shibuya at night. USJ indoors. Temples lit against black sky. Immersive installations where the only light source was the art itself. Every environment was a different challenge for the camera.

The handled all of it.

Nightography read each scene the way I would have lit it myself. Neon and cherry blossoms. Warm uplighting on centuries old wood. Deep blue hour. Pitch dark rooms with color bouncing off mirrors and glass.

The phone didn't fight any of it. It held the tone, kept the detail, and stayed out of my way. That's all I ever want from a camera.
