The body perishes, but art defies time.

Hirono: Reshape resonates with me on a deeply personal level because it illustrates how creation becomes a form of quiet immortality. When something is made with intention, honesty, and heart, it continues to live long after its creator has moved on. Art becomes a vessel for memory, emotion, and meaning, something that lingers and waits to be felt by someone else in the future.

Reading about Lang’s visit to Manila made me reflect on the things I wish I could say to him. There are so many thoughts about inspiration, influence, and how his work has shaped the way I see creativity, but what remains most important is gratitude. Thank you for creating art that speaks without needing explanation and resonates on an emotional level that cannot be engineered or replicated.

In a time when creation can be automated and imitated, Hirono: Reshape stands as a reminder of what makes art truly human. It carries vulnerability, intention, and feeling. Long after the body fades, emotion endures, and through art, it continues to speak.

I’ve been struggling to find my groove over the past six years. It often feels like everything I was supposed to become was taken from me by my personal struggles (and the pandemic).

Naisip ko, paano ko nagawang pabayaan ang sarili ko nang ganoon na lang? Maraming dahilan, sobrang layered.
Pero hindi natatapos sa paglikha ang paghahanap ko sa sarili. Sa totoo lang, yung mismong proseso ng paglikha, kasama ang responsibilidad ng maingat at makabuluhang paggamit ng mga public platforms (tulad ng account na ‘to) ang isa sa mga pinakaimportanteng dahilan kung bakit patuloy kong ipinaglalaban ang pagmamahal ko sa ginagawa ko.

Yung mga nangyari nitong nakaraang linggo, hindi lang dapat maging eye-opener. Dapat magsilbing paalala na may tungkulin tayong gamitin ang kalayaan natin para magsalita laban sa katiwalian. Maraming nangyaring hindi naibalita. Kaya mas kailangan nating maging mapagmasid, mapanuri, at huwag basta-bastang magpabulag sa mga galawan nila.

Hindi natin agarang makukuha ang nararapat para sa taumbayan, pero yung nangyari noong linggo ay bahagi ng mahabang prosesong kailangan nating pagdaanan para makamit ang hustisya para sa bansa.
