Little late to the posting party, I’m sure as some of yall are aware my brother passed away unexpectedly so I have been all over the place (first time grieving someone I love) and actually busy as well (currently sorting out a special event with my work over at the Motorcycle Collective so keep eyes peeled on my social media!).

Big shoutout to Cyclespot Wellington for hosting an unveiling event for this very special Ducati Lamborghini Panigale! 😍 limited to 630 units (funky number Ducati normally does 500!) plus another 63 for the “Revulto owner’s” or “Special client” edition that me and you can’t buy 🤣. Ducati calls this “The Art Of Unexpected” this bike is definitely art I will tell you that! The Carbon fibre clashed with the green and angles is such eye candy to look at! Really couldn’t stop “ooooing” and “ahhhhhing” while looking at this bike…

This is Ducatis third collaboration with lamborghini (honestly in my opinion best collabs in the automotive world!) with the first two Lamborghini bikes being the 1260 Diavel and Streetfighter V4! In my opinion it was about time Ducati made a Lamborghini Panigale and boy did the nail it! 😍 218hp (2 more HP than the Panigale V4S thanks to the race homologated Akraprovic exhaust) and all the carbon fibre shaves 2kgs off weighing at 118kgs (do I have to remind you 218hp bike!?)… As we all know every kg and hp makes a difference in the motorcycle world… some other upgrades the bike comes with that just proves it’s meant for performance includes the following: Dry Clutch (can’t name a better duo dry clutch + Ducati), Adjustable foot pegs and the billet aluminium Fuel cap, brake lever, clutch lever and counterweights! I don’t think y’all need any more proof that this is one crazy bike!!

Congratulations Stu on the serious bit of kit that you have added alongside the SFV4SP! (I can’t remember if you own any other bikes… 🤔) I look forward to the track day you plan on hosting where we can get some awesome photos of the bike! Unfortunately Darren (XtremeX) doesn’t own a Lamborghini anymore (booo jk) so i don’t know where we’re gonna find a Lamborghini to take photos with… 😩 please hit me up if you have one lol

Topic is a little different today but as you can see it’s also familiar at the same time!

Motorcycle themed barbershop! As you guys know I’m a sucker for anything motorcycle themed that’s not necessarily “motorcycle related”. So seeing that my mutual Stuart had just opened up his own barbershop and it’s combining his passion for motorcycles along with his trade that’s he’s really skilled in (barbering) I knew I had to stop by and get some photos and now make this my go to spot!

Now I use to go to Stuart’s old shop he worked at (started going their in 2020) and to be honest I never really was picky at who did my hair at his old shop as I knew all barbers in the shop were skilled as and had nothing to worry about! Before this shoot I’ve had multiple haircuts done by Stuart before, so I can safely say HE IS SKILLED AND KNOWS HIS CRAFT!! I am not just shamelessly promoting his business because it’s motorcycle themed… As I always say in my write up’s I am always honest (and I have gotten in trouble in the past for being too honest lol) He is a seasoned barber who also has some experience in hairdressing! (Which isn’t something many barbers have experience in!) Obviously it’s not necessary for a barber to have hairdressing experience but it’s nice to know he does also have pretty much as much experience as someone can get in the hair industry!!

I hung around with Stuart for about 3/4 hours throughout this shoot, seeing him interact with customers was incredible! Very knowledgeable and has strong communication skills which is key in my opinion for barbering / hair industry! There are quite a few barbers out there that don’t have the strongest communication skills which normally ends up with someone getting a cut they didn’t want… Another key thing is he’s really approachable and down to earth! I know some people don’t like to talk during a haircut which is understandable! But with all walks of life that normally come through barbershops, being talkative and down to earth I feel is also a key part of being a barber! We actually got talking about how it’s important to talk to people throughout a haircut, especially if someone’s going through a rough patch and they just need to rant or be distracted and talk about random things.

I feel as I’m talking quite passionately about barbering right now, or some of you may think “it sounds like you definitely know what you’re talking about” well rewind all the way back to end of 2019 to mid 2020 when I just started photography, I was pretty certain I was gonna be a barber and pursued barbering for about 5/6ish months! Unfortunately barbering put a pretty bad taste in my mouth… Two people that tried teaching me, weren’t really the “teaching type” I guess I’ll say and were really hard on me especially that one that had a thing out for me since the day I met them… don’t know why? Some adults are just immature no matter the age I guess… Moral of the story I ended up giving up on barbering and found out it definitely wasn’t for me… Even if I had a good experience I think I still probably would of left the industry if I’m gonna be honest… oh well…

So I feel as I definitely have some “knowledge say” (what the hell does that mean lol) or an eye for a good barber and I can 100% confirm that Stuart is amazing! You know wanna know how I can also confirm this? The day after this shoot (he gave me a haircut after this shoot) I was out with my fiancée (whose last name is also Dalton must I add??? Funny coincidence 🤣) and I had these random guys that I walked by say “Nice hair bro, I love it”…. In my whole almost 24 years of being alive I’ve never had a stranger compliment my hair…. I’ve only ever had my fiancée, family members and friends compliment it! Never a stranger 🤣, so thank you for that Stuart!

I am sure as you guys can tell Stuart is a passionate motorcyclist with the things he has around his shop! Might I add the W800 in the window is not a display bike! (So many people asked him while I was there is it a display bike) nope it’s his personal bike that he rides everyday from Lower Hutt into the CBD! No matter the weather Stuart will be on his trusty stylish W800! Can I just say that must be so handy being able to roll your bike into your shop!? Not having to find a park, Not worrying about it getting wet and not have the risk of it getting stolen! Man I’m jealous lol 😩.

Motorcyclist or not I think yall should definitely consider checking out Dalton barbershop! Especially how it’s fresh and new! Dalton has only been open for just over a month as of writing this, so any support is much appreciated! Also the motorcycle parking out the front of his shop in his words was a “Happy accident” as when he got the lease he didn’t know motorcycle parking was out the front… It’s like Dalton should be every Wellington motorcyclist new barber!!

Rumour has it if you ask nicely enough he can cut your hair outside of his business hours and even come to you! Ask nicely obviously… Walk ins are also an option if you wanna try your luck but he suggests booking in just in case! Turning customers down makes him sad and we don’t want Stuart sad… Do we!?

Get yourself down to Dalton barbershop, 39 The Terrace Welly CBD. Monday-Friday 8am-6pm. Tell him Liam sent you!

Italian day over at Paloma Gardens last month! Couple of us from Italian Motorcycle Owners Club (Inc.) of NZ rode up together and we had Muarry from the Manawatu IMOCNZ crew guide us around some back roads as well which we all really enjoyed! Nice to see his 851 still tearing up roads! 😍.

It was great to also see many more cars come along as well this time around! I was crushing hardcore on the QV Gulia and 4C! 🥵.

It was a great day out! I love going to events like this! I guess this where I’ll mention I actually connected with someone locally last year and we both discussed about hosting a Italian vehicle meet up once a month and each month changes theme (eg Alfa’s, fiats, Ducatis, Vespa’s etc) but I got ghosted hard for I have no idea why… was honestly really excited to be working together on this event… Oh well maybe I will find someone else in the Wellington region who would be keen on working with me and getting this to happen!!

Anyways I guess this is where I’ll also pitch I am the Wellington area coordinator for IMOCNZ and we meet once a month at Sipriana Cafe in thorndon! Every first Sunday of the month 10am-12pm/1ish! We welcome all Italian bike owners to come along and connect and chat! 🇮🇹🏍️

Big thanks to Moto71 and Paloma gardens for putting this on!! What a great turnout and fun day out! 😍

Finally getting around to getting these photos out from Cyclespot Wellington Ducati Australia & New Zealand Desmo450 MX NZ Premiere! Along with Alpinestars unveiling the new TechAIR MX!

December and January is a busy time for me so these photos took longer than expected to get done and for the last couple weeks I’ve been sick 🤒 (only last couple days I’ve been catching up with things!)

Anyways Ducati’s first MX (Motocross) bike! Very cool to see Ducati stepping into new territory and as a first time MX bike I feel as they nailed it first try! 449cc Single Cylinder engine with Ducati’s signature Desmodromic Value system (first MX bike to have Desmo valuing) producing 63.5hp, 53.5nm and revs all the way out too 11,900rpm! The specs say this bike rips and so can the riders who have ridden this beast (eg Tony Cairoli, Alessandro Lupino etc). The Desmo250 and 450 are actually doing pretty well in the MX world as well!

Bravo Ducati on another awesome and wicked piece of engineering 🏍️😍.

Also this revolutionary piece of equipment from Alpinestars, the TechAIR system has been around for quite awhile now, but only ever available for Track riding, road riding and they made a off road riding one not too long ago as well! This is huge that they have now made a MX protection with a TechAIR system! I don’t do MX myself and don’t really keep up with MXGP, super cross etc and I am honestly surprised that it has taken this long for one of the major brands to incorporate a airbag system into MX!! (Besides Shot air guard) As I definitely reckon that the MX riders have some of the craziest crashes I’ve seen!? I also can’t comprehend why all MX gear isn’t Kevlar… Don’t mind me I think this is just my inner road rider mindset coming out haha… 🤣 anyways this is a huge advancement in MX safety and protection for a rider! It detects when a rider is about to crash and deploys!! From what I’ve read up online these are reliable so you don’t have to worry about it randomly deploying…

Alpinestars you also definitely a bravo and praise for this game changing product! I actually would like to invest in an Airbag system at some point in the future as I know many riders who have been saved from airbags and highly rate them!

Feel free to leave your experience with an airbag system down below I’d love to hear some more input!

Man this year has been so dead for me photography wise, the only time I really picked up my camera this year was to photograph events I was help running… (you can definitely see that if you go look at my feed lmao) I almost forgot what it’s like to have a private photo session lol. No running around having to juggle photographing, talking to people, making sure things are going to plan…

Next year hopefully will be fulled of more private shoots! I also had an influx on people mucking me around for photos this year it seems… Something that is frustrating to deal with but it is what it is when you’re doing photography…

Got another set of photos to edit from the Desmo450MX launch event and hopefully at least one more bike shoot coming up before the year ends!

Thanks all for sticking around and thanks Dominic for coming back to me for a third time for photos! I am more of a ford guy though… 😉

Something a little different this time! Here are some promo photos I got for BrutalB4t at Coffee Cave ! Apart of my series of photos I will be doing showing off my fiancée work (Brutal Bat) in various scenarios.

Coffee Cave has been my go to spot for the rare occasions I crave a hot drink or my fiancée wants coffee! It’s handy for us as we live 5 minutes away but even if we didn’t live close I know for a fact I’d probably still find myself there! I’ve known Izzy (The Model wearing bats jewellery) for about 5 years now (outside of CC) Awesome human and happy to call her a friend who both me and my fiancée bat have had some crazy conversation with 🤣 (also to the elder gentleman who heard myself, Izzy and Billy banter while taking photos I am sorry you had to flush out your ears after listening to us 🤣🤣) . Also I’ll die on this hill, Izzy is the best barista I’ve been too, I’m not a hot drink connoisseur but I’ve been to my fair share of baristas around Wellington and Izzy’s drinks along with all staff at Coffee Cave drinks just hit different (in a good way obviously) compared to others! I cannot recommend the lovely team at Coffee Cave enough! Oh it’s also a dog owners hot spot so if you love dogs I promise you’ll love it there!! 🥰
