From the Himalaya to Aoraki. A glorious week keeping things tuned up on the ice….and at one point, inside it, when a crevasse opened up (yes, we were roped up).

One stunning sunset above the hut, several days getting smashed by the wind, four other awesome humans.

Here we are 🇳🇵

Flying in, the first glimpses of Nepal revealed far-flung mountain settlements - home to around 22 million people across the country. Just pause on that for a moment: so many lives lived remotely, many families completely self-sufficient, shaping their own survival and community.

And here’s the part that matters: you helped make this journey possible. Through your support, we’re focusing on just one village, Basa, a community of about 350 people who make it work day by day high up in the Himalaya.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be here living alongside them, sharing life as they do, and finding stories worth telling.

Oh, and if you’ve not heard it before, Nepalese people are THE nicest people, I mean, look at my welcoming wreath! 🌼🌼🧡🧡

So many of you have already supported 🙏 To keep the momentum going, the fundraiser link is in my bio.

So what’s this all about? In short: supporting rural Nepal communities as they lead their own change, except this time, you get to see the results of your donation through film.

From health, education, or wellbeing - is decided on, built, and owned by the people of Basa. This fundraiser is about sustaining that momentum and helping their story reach further.
I’m giving my time to document their stories - the new ideas, challenges, and triumphs - and to share them with you all.

There’s a popular saying in that “it takes a village”. So, from one village to another, let’s support Basa in being heard.

This is a project and story for good.

Show that you believe in this - please check it out here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/documentary-for-basa-village-foundation

Basa is one of Nepal’s most remote mountain villages. They only had electricity for the first time in 2011, after the villagers built their own hydro system!

Life here has always been shaped by poverty, earthquakes, and isolation. With little government support, Basa continues to face hardships in health, education, and opportunity.

Yet this small mountain community continues to find ways to innovate through local leadership, empowered by support from the wider world. Every project - from clean water and hydro power to education - is led and built by the villagers themselves.

Now, a fundraiser has been launched to help the people of Basa share their stories and connect with the world, expanding opportunities in health, education, and building a stronger future.

is not just about a small mountain community rising out of the Himalayan peaks that surround it. It’s about the people finding ingenious ways to develop their community in the face of natural disasters, limited access to education and medicine, and the pressures of climate change.

If you’d like to support the people of Basa in shaping their own future, here’s the link which is also in my bio: www.gofundme.com/f/documentary-for-basa-village-foundation
