Cathy Dee has been shooting people and other animals since she was very small.

Pet and Portrait photographer Cathy Dee trained as a photographer in New York in the late 80s. After winning the NZIPP Portrait photographer of the year in 1993 she worked in Wellington and then New Plymouth. When digital photography kicked in, unfortunately, no longer being able to afford the gear required, Cathy gave up as a pro photographer and took up other things...until now. Now she is back, better than ever and ready to capture you and/or your pets as Something Out of the Ordinary.

Meet Grey Muzzle Pooch Ambassador CADDIE...
Caddie is the much loved pooch of Sarah and Steve in Oxford.
She enjoys daily walks along the river bed and really enjoys chasing hares - as she is getting older, she
pays for that pleasure the next morning but it doesn't stop her.
In between exploring and chasing hares, you'll find Caddie lounging around on her orthopaedic bed in the sunshine.

Meet Grey Muzzle Cat Ambassador FURRIO SOPRANO...
Furrio is one of my much loved cats. An SPCA Special.

In his senior years now, he has had a chequered past that includes purrloining food from the cupboards (Grand theft cookies), yoiking fish out of the fishpond (Murder) and GBH on the younger members of the family.
He disappeared for a couple of years only to return as an Attorney at Paw to the disreputable Sir Spike TidMouse (Another one of my cats).
Furrio now prefurrs to spend his time lazing around in the sun on a soft bed waiting for something tempting to be dished up for breakfast - or dinner - or even lunch - he's not fussy.

This beautiful combination is Hazel and Frank.

Hazel is one of those kids you just wish there were more of - for two years now, Hazel has been donating some of her pocket money to Cat Rescue Christchurch to help cats in need.
I think it takes a very special person to do that so I offered her a portrait of her with her adorable cat - Frank,

Frank behaved as though he has always been in front of the camera, and a little part of me fell in love with him.

Thank you Hazel for being such a caring - pretty awesome kid :-)

I just couldn't choose one image of today's trip to the dog park.
Moss met up first with a Springer Spaniel she has met and got on with beautifully before and then her boyfriend Beau turned up and the poor wee springer didn't even get a look in...
I am all about photographing expression and these have it!

Some more beautiful greyhounds looking for new homes.
I adore these dogs - if it wasn't for our cats, I'd have one in a heartbeat.
If you want a clean, quiet, sweet natured, lazy companion these are the dogs for you.

I'm trying to put together a personal calendar of images of Moss growing up.
The problem is I'm having a hard time deciding what images to include and I've only got as far as April!!
Moss was a seriously adorable puppy! (and she's equally as adorable not she's almost grown I have to say :-))
These are the finalists - what do you people think should go in...

I'm just going through sorting out some photographs to print for the Selwyn Pet expo tomorrow and I found this one, which I love but that was taken about 5 years ago, possibly longer, before I got the camera I have now. I still love it though :-)
