I can’t even begin to describe how lovely this day was! One of those weddings where I left feeling like a friend.
James & Toby flew home from London to be married in the beautiful Moeraki, where James was raised by his hapu. Toby had family travel from his home town of Wellington to celebrate. We were all welcomed onto the marae by James’ mum, followed by their ceremony, ch*****ne + cake out the front of Fluer’s.
James and Toby met years before now via the music scene, although went their separate ways for quite some time. They both returned home from Europe after the covid lockdowns ended, and were reintroduced by James’ best mate Mark (spy him 5th from the right in the group photo) & as the saying goes, the rest was history.
Their day was relaxed, emotional, and full of the kind of moments that remind me why I love what I do. It was such a privilege to be there, and one I’ll be thinking about for a long time.
