An ode to Dunedin. A place that will always hold a special place in my heart ❤️

To the old stone buildings that have stood the test of time.

To the archways, the steep streets, the whimsical grandeur of a city that carries its history in every corner.

A place where so many stories have already been held…
and where new ones continue to find their way in.

Neill & Adrian. The way these two look at each other really inspired me the first time we met when I photographed Neill's sisters' wedding back during Covid.

And that’s something I don’t take lightly... being welcomed back into the same circles, the same families, to witness another chapter unfold.

There’s a familiarity in that.
A sense of belonging.
Like you’re not just documenting a moment, but becoming part of a timeline that stretches far beyond a single day.

And somewhere between the architecture, the ceremony, the city itself ..
there’s this powerful understanding that love doesn’t look one way.

It never has.

This wedding day wove together different cultures, different traditions —
an Anglican church, a Tibetan blessing ...
not as contrast, but as something beautifully whole.

That’s what I loved most.
The way it all sat together so naturally.
No separation. No explanation needed. Just love, laughter, adventure, and devotion honoured in more than one language & ritual.

Grateful to be able to capture moments like this & to be a witness to love in all its forms.

Join me behind the scenes for Sarah & Rhys' big "I Do" 😍

What a day! What a venue. If beach coves, dreamy sunsets, clear marquees, and endless epic backdrops for your photos is your thing... then is the spot.

Thanks for having me team! Such a magical day, and holy wow what a sunset! Congrats lovebirds! 🥂🍾

Loving these gems from Jasmine & Matthew's big day!

Windswept. Sunshine. Rain. Rainbows. Here for all of it.

And those smiles!

Congrats lovebirds 😘

there’s something about elopements that just hits different.

it’s not about timelines or expectations or doing things the “right” way…
it’s about being in it. fully.

letting nature set the mood,
letting the elements carry the moment with you.

Patricia and Maik chose to do it this way.
slow, intentional, a little wild… and completely their own.

the day started windswept and raining..
the kind where you could rush it,
or you could just… wait.
and that’s the beauty of eloping.
the day is actually yours.
no crowd to manage, no pressure to be right on time…
just space to move with it.

so we waited.
watched the weather shift,
Tui moving through the bush, oyster catchers calling,
sea lions swimming through the teal blue waters...
and when the moment came, we knew

from the deck looking out over the inlet,
to wandering the beach barefoot…
sand, salt, wind, ocean…

When we let nature be a part of our experience, it changes you...
like nature wasn’t just there to look pretty,
it shapes the whole feeling of the day.

this is what eloping can be.
intimate. expressive. a little adventurous.
wild and deeply real.

congratulations to you both 🤍
your final collection is here.

building a life for myself… doing photography, retreats, workshops, all the things I care about… has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done

but also… it’s a lot

when you’re self-employed and passionate, it’s so easy to slip into more
more ideas, more work, more pushing, more holding everything

and I’m starting to realise that feeling healthy, wealthy and free in the middle of it… doesn’t come from adding more

it comes from creating space inside it

space to slow down
space to step away from the noise
space to actually feel my life while I’m building it, while I'm living it...

because I don’t want to create something I constantly need a break from

I want to be in it
fully
still learning that balance
but this feels like part of it

This has been sitting with me.

It’s been about 14 years since I lived in San Diego, but hearing about Tim Lowman passing in a tragic motorcycle accident just before New Year hit me harder than I expected. Sometimes news travels across oceans and still lands straight in the chest.

I did know Tim. Not closely, but enough to know his presence. Enough to remember his energy, his style, and the way he held space in a room and on a stage. Over the past week, seeing the outpouring of love and tribute posts from the community has been heartbreaking and deeply moving. It’s clear how many lives he touched, how much he gave, and how much he mattered.

My heart goes out to his wife Dani and his little girl Marlow. What an impossibly hard loss. No words ever feel adequate in moments like this.

When people ask me what I miss about California, it’s always the music scene. Those years were electric. Back then, my sister, my soul-sister Brianna, and I created a small publication called The Sparrow. We spent our nights chasing sound — venue to venue — interviewing emerging bands, shooting shows on black-and-white film, dancing hard, and feeling deeply connected to something communal and alive.

Tim stood out then, just as he does now in memory. A true one-man band. The unmistakable force behind and a part of another fave band . A pillar of the San Diego music community in the truest sense — generous, wild, and unforgettable.

These photographs are all film — grainy, imperfect, full of motion and feeling. They hold the spirit of that time, that scene, and a man who helped shape it.

Tim will live on in the music, the stories, and the community he helped build.

Rest in peace, legend.

Sending love to your family across the miles.

May you be somewhere up there, setting the rhythm for one hell of a party. 🖤
