Last week I took up the opportunity to photograph the NMIT culinary students completing their Cake Day assessment.

Being in a commercial kitchen is totally out of my comfort zone, and with the challenge of mixed lighting (fluorescent and natural), I received positive feedback from NMIT who will use some of my images for promotion of the culinary arts - and these cakes were truely pieces of art! (and they were delicious 😋).

A perfect way to spend an overcast winters morning at Poorman's Stream in Marsden Valley.

It's easy access to the stream and I took lots of different compositions as I carefully made my way up the stream with the camera and tripod.
