The photoshoot that almost didn’t happen.
harte has been so open about how different postpartum has felt this time around. Between daycare bugs, sleep deprivation and feeding challenges, this session very nearly got postponed.

Instead, we took the pressure off.

Beau needed a little longer to settle that morning, so we waited. We chatted, slowed everything down and let him set the pace. Once he was ready, we kept things simple and captured a beautiful collection of moments to forever look back on.

Postpartum doesn’t always leave much space to pause and take it all in. Sometimes you’re simply getting through the next feed, the next wake-up, the next day.

That’s why these photographs matter.

Not because those weeks are easy or perfect, but because they become part of your family’s story and a way back to moments that were there all along, even if survival didn’t leave much room to notice them. 🤍

For this image, I felt like it would look so good printed big and the houses in the background take your focus away from the family, so I removed them. A little hoha (annoying) because when you remove a distraction from one photo, to make a gallery cohesive you have to do it on all of the similar photos/photos in the same spot 🤣
But hey, it was worth it 🔥

The tiny things.
The things you swear you’ll remember forever.
And then one day, you realise you can’t quite remember the shape of their lashes, the wrinkles on their knees, or those impossibly tiny toes.
That’s why I photograph the details.

I’ve lost count of how many times a parent has said to me “my baby has already changed SO much”.
And that’s only within the first few weeks too!

Clinically speaking, you have a newborn for 28days and those days blur together so quickly, that before you know it you have this entirely different little human to the one you brang home 😭

THAT’S the magic of newborn photography ❤️

That’s also why all newborn photographers recommend booking in advance ❤️🤪

A few months ago I had the privilege to capture at home with her gorgeous new baby girl 🥹❤️

I’ve been following this gal for YEARS so it was pretty special! (I was a fitness girly pre kids 🤪😅 IYKYK).
