Hamilton, Brisbane

This was over the river in the Hamilton suburbs in Brisbane on a recent trip. One of the first photos as I explored my new camera. I love the colours of sunset and capturing that on camera.

Somewhere in the Mist

On a misty Monday morning, I opened my still-sleepy eyes to a world that seemed to belong to another century, or perhaps somewhere straight out of Silent Hill. The streets were deserted, the world eerily quiet, and the road ahead had vanished into the fog. Just as I began to question reality, a red car emerged from nowhere and disappeared into the mist.

Hamilton, Fairfield Bridge

I recently moved to Hamilton, and honestly, I haven't explored much of the city yet. But I've found myself drawn to the Fairfield Bridge; it's so close to where I live that I've been visiting it regularly.

On my third visit, a memory hit me out of nowhere: about fifteen years ago, I came to Hamilton with a group of friends from Auckland. We hung out on this exact bridge, though back then I didn't really know the area or appreciate what I was looking at.

Pretty surreal moment. Had to capture it. 😁

Hamilton North, just off the expressway.

After watching some of the birds hunting for 30 or so minutes, I decided to walk back to the car and look into a scrubby area. The Harrier was sitting on a post, and it took off straight away. Somehow, I managed to focus on it just as it lifted off the post and tracked for a few seconds. This was one of a series of images that were in focus.
Harriers are very difficult to get close to, and so I was a bit lucky.
