Ann Knipe Photography

Ann Knipe Photography Amateur Photographer from the West Coast of New Zealand. I enjoy getting out in our beautiful rainforest and capturing the wildlife. Welcome to my page.

My name is Ann Knipe and Photography is my hobby. I don't photograph weddings, take family portraits etc - my love is nature photography and living on the West Coast of NZ definitely provides me with ample opportunity to get out with my camera. I hope that you enjoy my photography and if you wish to share an image please respect the time and effort that has gone in to creating the image by asking me first before you hit the share button.

My last Safari Scooter post.
One of the things that you observe when you get out and support this great event is the number of repeat riders that participate every time, and this amazing, and creative woman is one of them.
The first time we went and supported the safari was in 2020 and a scooter appeared as a very attractive chicken. That got my attention.
In 2022 she appeared riding a 'Fred Flintstone' car,
2024 it was a Snail, and
2026 her scooter had morphed into a Mouse with cheese.
Nicola Garlick you are amazing.
I will definitely be waiting for you in 2028 to see what you create for that Safari.

A 2026 Scooter Safari update - this awesome event has raised $371,000 for the Cancer Society. What an amazing effort.
Many thanks once again to the riders, their families and friends, support crews, and those who generously gave to the cause. 🛵💛🛵

For the last 10 years I have supported the biennial Cancer Society Trans Alpine Scooter Safari, and this year was no exception.
Over 280 supporters rode 50cc scooters from Chistchurch to Hokitika. And going by their faces, t***s, waves etc it looked like they really enjoyed it.
Russell and I met them as they came into Otira, and then at the Kumara Junction roundabout.
To all the men, women, youth, retiree's, their families and supporters a very big THANK YOU. See you again in two years time.
Check out the album.
I will continue to post more images as I work my way through roughly 800 of them.

A plug for the Cancer Society Transalpine Scooter Safari on this Saturday 23rd May.
Get out and support these gallant scooter riders who will be traversing the Southern Alps on 50cc scooters raising funds for the Society.
They will be at the Kumara Racecourse for a stop at 4.10pm and will depart on their final leg to Hokitika at 4.40pm.
Kumara Junction is a great spot to see the riders passing through. Check out the local riders - Signlink Graphics and other locals will be in there too.
I have attached the schedule for the event.

There is always something to see at the Tipheads.
This afternoon at Shipwreck Point (Cobden Tiphead) The FV Progress returned to Port; the local Kotuku decided to pick on the White Faced Herons; and a Little S**g chose to dry it's wings on the fence beside my car.

A nice treat this afternoon - the FV Progress provided us with a birds eye view of it trawling just off the front of the bar. I have it on good word that the trawl close in has been worthwhile.
