NZIPP 2026 Iris Awards wrap up!
This was the first year in a few that I haven’t attended or helped out with the awards in some way and I had quite a lot of FOMO, though loved following the judging online - and kind of glad not to be physically in the room for the judging of my family image as it was a pretty intense & emotional response from the judging panel and I’m not sure I would have held it together.

The thing is, my images are never created for awards. They’re for my clients and I do my best to document a beautiful but honest representation of them as they are in that moment.

I want to sincerely thank my clients who trust me, who invite me back again and again. The ones who believed in me when I was very first starting out and those who continue to support me.

This year I received a Gold Distinction in the family category. For a family who has been part of my journey from day 1. One who I have been part of on some of their best days, and also their worst. I don’t really have the words to express how this feels. Thank you for your blessing in putting this photo story together.

I also received a Silver and Bronze Award for images in the Wedding Category, as well as my Gong as a recognised Associate Photographer in NZIPP and a Bar for Service to NZIPP

Earlier this year I had the privilege of photographing Kristin and her beautiful team of horses. 🤍

What made this session even more special is that these gorgeous horses are all siblings. Watching their different personalities shine through while seeing the bond they share was something really special to capture.

Extended family sessions have such a special place in my heart. 🤍

After a day of grey skies and overcast weather, the sun decided to make a perfectly timed appearance for Meghan & Fraser’s engagement session on Meghan’s family farm.

As golden light spilled across the paddocks, we wandered the property, soaking up the last of the day’s sunshine. And because no family photo session is complete without the important members of the family, their beloved fur babies joined in too.

This golden hour was pure luck, and magic. ✨🐾🐴🌾

Most people think a wedding photographer’s job is just showing up and taking photos - but the truth is so much of what we do happens quietly in the background.
Throughout the entire day I’m watching the light, anticipating moments before they happen, and paying attention to the energy between you and the people you love most. The goal isn’t to interrupt your wedding day with constant posing, but to give you space to actually experience it.
Some of the most meaningful wedding photos come from the moments couples don’t even realize are happening - the deep breath before walking down the aisle, the hand squeeze during the ceremony, the way you look at each other when you think no one else is watching.
That’s why my approach to wedding photography is intentional and patient. I’m always observing, waiting, and documenting the genuine connection that tells the real story of your wedding day.
Because years from now, the photos that matter most won’t just show how your wedding looked - they’ll remind you exactly how it felt.

Wedding editing has had me very busy lately, but in between galleries I’ve managed to sneak out for a few beautiful shoots — including this one with Savannah & Fox in the dreamiest autumn evening light.

At the time, none of us knew just how quickly these photos would become so incredibly precious. Grateful for moments like this, frozen forever 🤍

A little note — because of the nature of weddings and limited dates, I’m unable to hold dates or offer pencil bookings. Dates are only secured once your booking is confirmed.

A March Sunday, done right.

James & Ashlee opened the doors to their grand home and made it theirs in every sense — relaxed, intentional, and filled with the people (and pups) they love most.

Even Tony knew the vibe… curling up on Ashley’s dress mid-ceremony like he owned the place 🐾

A long, slow lunch followed, with a “design your own cocktail” bar keeping things flowing.

Honestly, no better way to spend a Sunday 🤍
