🎣 THAT’S ONE HELL OF A HALIBUT! 🇺🇸🔥

Some fish are memorable… and then there are fish that completely stop you in your tracks!

While on our Alaskan Adventure, my fishing buddy Scott Tindale hooked into this absolute GIANT of a halibut. 🐟💪

From the moment we saw it beside the boat, we knew we were looking at something special. The size, the power and the sheer bulk of this fish were incredible — exactly the kind of fish you dream about when heading to Alaska!

There were plenty of laughs, plenty of hard work, and a few moments where we wondered who was going to win… 😳😂

But Scott got the job done!

After admiring this incredible fish, we released it and watched it swim away — no halibut came aboard the boat. 🇺🇸🌊

Alaska certainly delivered, and this halibut is going to be one tough fish to beat!
Fish measured 1.9 metres or 6’2” and weighed an estimated 110 kg or 245lb

After a good nights rest it was back up at 5am for a traditional American Breakfast at Doc Warners of Biscuits and gravy...

After a good nights rest it was back up at 5am for a traditional American Breakfast at Doc Warners of Biscuits and gravy with all the fixings and a few strong coffees. We headed out in the fog chasing local rock fish. We caught a few but the halibut kept eating our baits , so both Scott Tindale and I are no longer halibut virgins…. Just need to find the big ones now.

We fished Downriggers with bumper bar flashers and a mixture of soft baits , metal spoons and rigged herring. All techniques worked well and we landed about 15 salmon.(we only kept 3) All the fish were in great condition and weighed between 10-15lb.Biggest tip of the day was keeping a close eye on the Lowrance Elite FS for signs of bait and contour changes.
