I’ve been pondering a lot more deeply about how to stay true to the emotion of a real memory, both when documenting a wedding or creating imagery for a collection shoot like this one.
Weddings are both celebrations of beauty and emotion. Both things speaking to each other. If we go on the beauty extreme we loose substance, if we go in the emotion extreme without capturing it artfully we loose the quiet beauty of the moment.
I find commonly, it’s in these editiorial shoots that we often forget about the story and only photograph the looks, the fashion, the thing… Sadly, we often strip the soul, when really, behind every speckle of beauty lives a story. Even more so in these collection shoots.

Ruth’s years of creativity brings it all together.
Bobbi actually embodies all the emotions as she wears them.
These curated spaces are so special and teach me so much about true documentary art and how, even in this world of fashion and weddings being more about what things ‘look like’, I love how even these moments remain to celebrate stories of handcrafted hours of work.
Yet again it’s so true. Images with substance carry a quiet magic with them.
So lucky to see this and find the people who spot this magic from a mile away.
