Group shot in the company offices stairwell in Shortland Street Auckland.
Just one light in the end for this. I did have lights for the background setup shooting through the perforated metal background of the stairwell, but during testing the client and I preferred the attention the image had when the background lights were turned off and just the natural light coming from some windows lit behind the stairwell. It allowed the subjects to pop out of the image more and bring the focus onto them. Sometimes you can over light shots and keeping it simple ends up being the best approach. I gave the client a mix of both in the end so they had a variety to choose from.

Corporate portrait shot in an environmental style in the company offices in Aucklands Rosedale.
Three lights were used in this headshot: the first crating flattering light on the front of the subject, the second for an edge light on the side of her face imitating light coming from the windows, and the third to light the background slightly making sure the foreground and background of the photo are nicely balanced.

Lawyers portrait captured in the companies chambers in Aucklands C*D.
The client wanted her new image to match in with some previous headshot images the company had from a previous shoot. I setup a large lighting modifier in the boardroom for flattering light on her, and bounced another light off the ceiling slightly behind her to fill in the shadows in the background of the shot and then pulled in some of the natural light coming through the window to make it all balance.

I captured this headshot to match in with some existing headshots the accounting firm already had of existing staff members. Photographed in their offices in Silverdale north of Auckland using my portable background and lightning system.

Medical working images captured after the headshots session. We had a friend of the doctor sit in as the 'client' (back of head, etc.) for the images and captured a bunch of images, some in scrubs and some in a suit, to give them some options.

Look at that veil! The focus of this shoot was to show off the veil which the mother of the bride had made along with the dress. Clever Mum.
The couple had already been married earlier in the year but their photographer hadn't managed to cover the veil well in the images so they booked a short shoot with me to focus on capturing it in some fresh images.
We met late in the afternoon for some great light at Bastion Point in Aucklands central east and captured a range of images around the reflective pool and surrounding trees and park.
The second image shows the truth behind the flowing veil with Mum being crucial to the image throwing the veil into the air for the shot.

Environmental business headshot captured for ENT Doctors in Greenlane, Auckland.
We also captured a range of working images in the same visit which I'll post later on. Three lights hidden in the this shot to get the flatter clean light on the subject and balance the background.
