Spring is officially here, and with it comes the start of another beautiful wedding season. 🥂✨

The quieter months have come to an end, and I couldn’t be more excited to be back capturing love stories across Australia and New Zealand. From incredible new venues to unforgettable celebrations, I already know this season is going to be something special.

There was something so incredibly special about Amy & Matt’s wedding at Spicers Guesthouse. 🤍
Beautifully designed and planned by Amy herself, every detail reflected their New York Jazz Bar vision — black velvet lounges, white armchairs, dimly lit rooms and live jazz.
But beyond the styling, it was the people who made the day unforgettable.
From the emotional speeches to the fun, beautiful moments with their gorgeous little boy, there was so much love in the room. Amy and Matt’s relationship is clearly so special to everyone around them, and you could feel it in every corner of the room.

Amy had always described their wedding as simple, intentional and people-focused and honestly, that’s exactly what their wedding felt like. ✨

The wedding day you're picturing in your head won't go exactly to plan. And honestly, that's a good thing. 🤍

I sat down with Sarah and Emma, couple therapists, to talk about the pressure for a wedding day to be perfect, and how that pressure can actually rob you of the joy of it. Every wedding has surprises, but it's never the surprise itself that ruins the day, it's how the couple responds to it.

Sarah and Emma took it even deeper, asking where that need for perfection really comes from in the first place. Social media, people-pleasing, a dream we've all been sold online....

Believe me, the day doesn't need to be perfect. It just needs to be felt.

I might be a little biased because my love for photographs is where this whole journey began… but I truly believe in the power of photographs.

The wedding day goes by in a heartbeat. There are moments you’ll remember forever, but there are also so many little in-between moments that quietly disappear with time.

A photograph gives you the chance to come back.

To remember the feeling, the people, the emotions, the tiny details you didn’t even realise were happening. To relive the day, not just remember it.

And this is why I love prints.

There is something so special about holding a photograph in your hands, sitting together on a quiet afternoon, flipping through your memories — rather than scrolling past them on a screen.

Your wedding photographs aren’t just images from one day. They become part of your story, your home, and the memories you’ll return to for years to come. 🤍
