I took these shots on the night of the eclipse just a few hundred meters away from where I captured the eclipse in northeast Spain. It was such a special night with the perseid meteor shower and the new moon. This spot wasn’t aligned with the Milky Way so I used my two camera’s for the perseids and the other for the startrails. Which is your favourite?

I was able to test the new full frame 7ARTISANS OFFICIAL 10mm Fisheye F2.5 lens with autofocus. I took the first shot with that lens, though it consists of many single shots. This super wide range made me capture 185° of the sky so I wouldn’t miss much perseid meteors.

Untracked, unstacked and no sky replacement. The first is only stacked once for the foreground. The second (with the arch) is just stitched. Sometimes I just like to keep it pure and enjoy the moment instead of doing all these technical tricks. Proper post processing, a camera with a high dynamic range and a 1.8 lens are enough to give me satisfying results. Do you agree?

🇬🇧 What an insane natural phenomenon this was. Well worth the long drive down south. I tried to capture every moment and combine it in one frame. It’s quite technical to capture these moments correctly and edit them in a way it most resembles what I saw and felt. Total darkness for a long minute, birds were confused and I was in stress. Cause I had to capture this moment well. I took two days to scout the area for the best spot. This was far from easy as authorities closed many areas as they can’t handle the amount of people and the risks they bring along like causing wildfires. Before arriving in Spain I didn’t know this area. Actually my two first choices, a well know castle ruin and a well know dramatic desert rock, were among the spots that were restricted. So I was very glad to have found this spot that perfectly aligned with the event. It was a little struggle to get all my gear up on this hill, that did not have a path. But in the end I am very happy with the result and this event belongs to one of the most amazing photography experiences of my life.
