A historic moment at Museumfoto 😉.

In a world that sometimes seems to be on fire, my lovely customer plays Beethoven's Ode to Joy.

Just on a Monday morning in a small studio in the heart of Amsterdam.

I say, think, and feel.....❤️❤️❤️

The Ode to Joy (Ode an die Freude) is one of the most iconic pieces of music in history. Here are the key facts about this masterpiece:

The Composition: It forms the finale of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, completed in 1824. It was revolutionary because it was the first time Beethoven used a choir and soloists in a symphony.

The Lyrics: The lyrics are based on a poem by Friedrich Schiller from 1785. Its central message is universal brotherhood: "Alle Menschen werden Brüder" (All men become brothers).

European Anthem: In 1972, the melody was chosen as the anthem of the Council of Europe and later, in 1985, as the official anthem of the European Union. It symbolizes values such as freedom, peace, and solidarity.

Personal Drama: Beethoven composed this work while completely deaf. At the premiere in Vienna, a singer had to turn him to face the audience to see the audience give him a standing ovation.

Stephan uit Belfast Noord Ierland is een man naar mijn hart.

Komt elk jaar naar Amsterdam met zijn moeder Monica. Niet in het weekend, want dan is het te druk. Dit zijn de foto's van de afgelopen drie jaar.

Als ik terug kijk naar de 11/12 jaar Museumfoto, dan vind ik dit wel de leukste serie!

Wisten jullie al dat Museumfoto sinds twee jaar "wereldberoemd" is in China door een post van een lieve klant op het Red Book? En dat ik daardoor heel veel Chinese klanten portretteer?

Dat veel Chinese jonge dames ook een westerse naam kiezen omdat de Chinese namen vaak moeilijk uit te spreken zijn. Stuk voor stuk zijn het hele lieve mensen. Vroeger kende ik China alleen van het lekkere eten, maar nu ken ik ook de mensen. En dat is een verrijking!

Elly - die vandaag op de foto kwam - heeft dit filmpje voor mij gemaakt. Zo lief!
