Governor Inuwa Yahaya Receives Prominent Gombe South Leaders, Gains Strong Backing for APC Consensus Arrangement

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, earlier today, received a delegation of prominent political and community leaders from Gombe South Senatorial District who paid him a solidarity visit at the Government House, Gombe.

The delegation, comprising respected political figures, former public office holders and religious leaders, commended the governor for his sterling leadership, inclusive governance and remarkable developmental strides across Gombe State.

Among those in the delegation were former member of the House of Representatives, former Local Government Chairman and former Commissioner, Hon. Yusuf Manu Swa; former Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Gombe State, Rev. Abare Kallah; former CAN Chairman, Rev. Ibrahim Jodah; former CAN Chairman in Billiri LGA, Rev. Pandikungu Ishaya; former Chairman of Balanga Local Government Area, Hon. Bakari Keltuma; and former Commissioner, Hon. A. A. Kulani.

Speaking during the visit, the leaders expressed pride in the achievements recorded under Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s administration, noting that his leadership has brought unprecedented development, peace and political stability to the state.

They particularly applauded the governor’s role in promoting unity and consensus in the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the state, especially regarding the Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency arrangement which produced Hon. Ali Isa JC as candidate.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya appreciated the delegation for the visit and stressed his administration’s commitment to equitable development, unity and good governance across all parts of Gombe State.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya Convenes Security Council Meeting Ahead of Party Primaries
..Charges Security Agencies to Ensure Peaceful, Violence- free Exercise

Earlier today, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, presided over a State Security Council Meeting at the Government House, Gombe, in a proactive move aimed at ensuring the peaceful and hitch-free conduct of political party primaries across the state.

The high-level security meeting was attended by heads of security agencies and other critical stakeholders to review the security situation and strategize on measures to maintain law and order before, during and after the forthcoming primary elections.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya, renowned for his commitment to the protection of lives and property of the citizenry, charged security chiefs to strengthen coordinated operations to prevent any form of violence, intimidation or disruption of the democratic process.

He emphasized that the peace and stability currently enjoyed in Gombe State must be protected at all costs.

The Governor urged political actors, party supporters and residents to conduct themselves peacefully and responsibly, stressing that elections should not be seen as a do-or-die affair but as a democratic process guided by the rule of law and mutual respect.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace, security and political stability across the state, while assuring citizens that the government will continue to work closely with security agencies to guarantee a safe environment throughout the electioneering period and beyond.

APC Senatorial Screening Committee Clears Governor Inuwa Yahaya for Gombe North Senate Race

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON who is also the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Gombe North Senatorial seat, on Friday appeared before the party’s Senatorial Screening Committee in Abuja, where he was formally cleared to contest in the forthcoming elections.

The screening exercise, which took place at Plateau House in Abuja, was conducted by the APC Senatorial Screening Committee chaired by the National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.

The exercise also featured other sitting governors seeking reelection or contesting for senatorial positions under the APC platform.

Addressing the aspirants during the exercise, Professor Yilwatda commended the governors for their service and contributions to governance, stating that the party has confidence in its sitting governors and their leadership credentials.

“As a party, we will continue to support all our sitting governors. There is no need subjecting you to rigorous screening again, having previously undergone similar processes and served creditably in office,” the chairman stated.

He noted that Governor Inuwa Yahaya and his counterparts had already fulfilled all constitutional and party requirements to contest and were therefore duly cleared by the committee.

“Having satisfied all the necessary requirements, you are hereby requested to take a bow and go,” he added.

Recall that Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s appearance before the screening panel comes amid growing momentum in the APC following his emergence as the party’s consensus candidate for the Gombe North Senatorial seat.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya is going into the Senatorial contest with enormous political strength, proven leadership credentials and an impressive record of performance that directly impacts the lives of the people.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya to Host Live Media Chat Today

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, will today host a live media chat scheduled to run for one hour and thirty minutes, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The quarterly interactive session will be broadcast live on GMTV, NTA Gombe, GMC Radio 91.9 FM, Progress Radio 97.3 FM, Amana Radio 98.1 FM, Vision FM 92.7 FM, and FRCN Jewel FM 103.5 FM.

The programme will also be streamed live on the Gombe Press Affairs - Hausa, Gombe Media and Publicity and Abdul No Shaking social media pages, alongside other online platforms.

Since the inception of his administration, the quarterly media parley has remained a consistent engagement platform through which Governor Inuwa Yahaya interacts directly with citizens, provides updates on critical government activities and addresses issues concerning governance, development and the progress of Gombe State.

Members of the public are encouraged to participate by sending in their questions and comments via SMS and WhatsApp through numbers that will be announced by the host station at the commencement of the programme.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya Receives Prominent PDP Member, Hajiya Aishatu MB Ahmad into APC

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has formally received prominent politician and People's Democratic Party (PDP) National Board of Trustees ( BoT) member, Hajiya Aishatu MB Ahmad, into the All Progressives Congress (APC)

A senior figure in the opposite party and former Commissioner of Education during the Dankwambo administration, Hajiya Aishatu MB Ahmad had maintained a visible presence in electoral politics, having contested twice for the House of Representatives seat to represent Akko Federal Constituency under the PDP.

Prior to her exit, Hajiya Aishatu held a meeting with Governor Inuwa Yahaya at the Government House, where she expressed deep admiration for his leadership style and described his nearly seven-year administration as transformative and impactful.

Explaining her decision, Hajiya Aishatu said her move followed extensive consultations and personal reflection, coupled with her growing confidence in the APC’s vision and the leadership direction being championed by Governor Inuwa Yahaya in Gombe State.

“Having devoted a significant part of my public and political life to service, I remain committed to contributing meaningfully to the growth and progress of Gombe State and Nigeria through the APC platform,” she stated.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya warmly welcomed the former PDP chieftain into the APC, expressing appreciation for her decision to join the ruling party.

The Governor described her defection as a major addition to the APC’s growing political family, citing her vast experience, leadership qualities and contributions to public service.

Jam’iyyar na son fayyace gaskiya tare da bayar da cikakken bayani domin gyara duk wata fahimta da ba daidai ba.

Da farko dai, kundin tsarin mulkin APC ya tanadi tsarin sulhu a matsayin sahihin hanya kuma mafi soyuwa wajen fitar da ‘yan takara. Wannan tsari na taimakawa wajen tabbatar da hadin kai, rage rikici, da kuma ceton lokaci da kudade. Bisa wannan dalili ne shugabancin jam’iyyar ya gudanar da tuntuba mai zurfi da bangarori daban-daban, ciki har da Kwamitin Tsofaffin Jam’iyya, Kwamitin Ayyuka na Jiha (SWC), Kwamitin Zartarwa na Jiha (SEC), da kuma dukkan ‘yan takara.

Muna tabbatar da cewa an sanar da kowane ɗan takara kuma an gayyace su a hukumance domin shiga cikin tsarin sulhun. Sai dai kuma, a fili yake cewa wasu daga cikin wadanda ke kokawa a yanzu sun zabi, bisa dalilansu na kansu, kin shiga cikin wannan tsari. Don haka, abin mamaki ne kuma bai dace ba, yadda wadanda s**a kaurace wa tsarin suke sake s**ar sakamakon da ba su taimaka wajen samarwa ba.

Jam’iyyar na son jaddada cewa: wannan tsarin sulhu shi ne zabin farko kawai. Manufarsa ita ce hada kan duk masu ruwa da tsaki, kare hadin kai a cikin jam’iyya, da kuma kauce wa rigingimu da yawan fafatawa ke haifarwa. Kofa a bude take ga kowa.

Idan wani ɗan takara bai amince da tsarin sulhu ba, babu wani zabi face a koma tsarin zaben fidda gwani kai tsaye (direct primaries). Saboda haka, duk wanda bai gamsu da sulhun ba, yana da damar shiga zaben fidda gwani kamar yadda doka da ka’idojin jam’iyya s**a tanada.

Don haka, muna kira ga dukkan masu ruwa da tsaki, musamman ‘yan takara da magoya bayansu, da su hada kai, su guji kalamai masu tada hankali, kuma su kauce wa duk wani abu da zai iya kawo cikas ga hadin kai da nasarar jam’iyya a babban zabe mai zuwa.

Jam’iyyar na kuma mika godiya ta musamman ga Gwamna Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya bisa nagartaccen jagorancinsa, hakuri, da jajircewarsa wajen tabbatar da tsarin da ya hada kowa. Haka kuma muna gode wa ‘yan Kwamitin Ayyuka na Jiha da dukkan ‘yan takarar da s**a halarci wannan tsari.

A karshe, APC a Jihar Gombe na tabbatar wa dukkan ‘ya’yanta cewa za ta ci gaba da samar da dama iri daya ga kowa, domin amfanin jam’iyya baki daya.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has announced Dr. Jamilu shaiyaku Gwamna as its consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election.

The decision was reached at an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting presided over by the party leader and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON.

The meeting also ratified consensus candidates for the state’s three senatorial districts, six House of Representatives seats and 24 State House of Assembly constituencies.

The session was attended by Governorship, National Assembly and State Assembly aspirants, members of the State Working Committee ( EXCO), party elders, and other critical stakeholders, including the Deputy National Financial Secretary of the APC, North East zonal officials of the party, among other senior party figures.

The adoption of consensus candidates followed extensive consultations spearheaded by Governor Inuwa Yahaya, involving senior party figures, EXCO members, aspirants and grassroots stakeholders, aimed at deepening internal cohesion, minimizing friction and projecting a united front ahead of the elections.

This development builds on earlier series of engagements led by Governor Inuwa Yahaya, who had convened meetings with party elders, members of the State Working Committee, party officials at various levels and other critical stakeholders as part of sustained efforts to consolidate unity and strengthen the party’s structure.
