Yesterday, I made a video to mark Daddyโs 20th anniversary.
Each time I tried to capture my thoughts, I shed tears. One would think that after 20 years, the tears would dry up.
The memory of the righteous is truly blessed, and such was the life that Daddy lived. He can never be forgotten and time would never erase the pain that his loss brought on all of us.
We canโt talk about the past 20 years without remembering the Icon and the Angel God sent to hold forth and steady the ship.
To my Dearest Mother โ you are the true definition of a woman for many seasons and many ages. You have exemplified the Proverbs 31 woman in more ways than we will ever be able to recognize you for. You are a Gift from God .
Among your many achievements, Mummy, I will forever thank God for how He used you to keep the family together. If you fought many battles, you fought them for us. You are a selfless leader who had one objective: to make Oji proud.
If I have any word for you today, it is this โ you canโt make him any prouder than you have already done; these past 20 years. No one in history would have done a better job with the dynamics you had to face.
There is no remembering Daddy without you, Mummy. So today I say thank you from the bottom of my heart. We exist today because you fought battles we will never know. Thank you for not taking the easy route. Thank you for staying on and staying strong.
I pray that when you look back, your heart is filled with pride and gratitude for all that God has done. We, your children, have risen today to call you blessed.
And to my amazing siblings โ there are truly no better people to call family. Brother and sister, no one comes close. Itโs been the rarest honour to be a brother and a friend to the most amazing people I know. Thank you for being amazing. Thank you for pushing against all odds. Thank you for knowing God and following His precepts, because this is key. May God always comfort us and give us strength to carry on.
Love you Mummy.
Love you, my amazing family.
Happy 20 years remembrance.
May our lives be a reflection of the values and principles our father lived for โ godly principles embedded in Christ Je
