For our last dive of the trip, we decided to forgo the 2 tank boat dives and have a nice leisurely dive on the stunning house reef at CoralEyebangka. The soft and hard corals are absolutely stunning! Being a the very centre of the Coral triangle, the diversity and sheer amount of corals and marine life is unbelievable. It is so wonderful to see such healthy reefs when many around the world have died off. We will miss the people, the beautiful resort and the incredible diving.

After my underwater photography workshop at CoralEyebangka, we have a couple of days of R&R. Of course, when you are staying somewhere where the diving is so spectacular, we just had to do another two boat dives, but this time I took my 'proper' camera 🙂. We had a brilliant couple of dives with Miguel, searching for macro critters amongst the incredible soft and hard coral gardens around Sahaung and Batu Tiga dive sites, as well as a night dive the previous night, and a snorkel on the stunning house reef at Coral Eye (natural light photography only). We are doing our last dive of the trip on the house reef this morning...photos to follow....

With my underwater photography workshop now complete and participants heading home, I've now had time to process the last day of diving photos taken yesterday with my Olympus TG-6 with 1 x INON S-220 strobe. We were delighted to find two ghost nudibranchs...almost impossible to spot, and very rare - the first ones I've ever seen!

Today was very bittersweet - after 10 days of teaching and being together everyone feels like family and it was sad to see everyone go, although it now means I have a couple of days here at CoralEyebangka to R&R. Shortly before waving them off, we felt the 7.8 magnitude earthquake, entered near the Philippines! We hope to see and dive with everyone again very soon.

After a very relaxing and excellent massage I'm now off for a night dive with my big camera :) !

Only 2 days of diving left on my underwater photography workshop. All of the participants are enjoying the variety of subjects offered around CoralEyebangka, with a range of beautiful reef tops, coral bommies and sandy slopes with many types of critters, there is something for everyone! These are just a few snap shots I took on one dive today whilst teaching.

What a fantastic day we had today! As part of my underwater photo workshop CoralEyebangka we took a day trip to the famous Lembeh Straits to do some muck diving. Lembeh is famed for its weird and wonderful critters and really tested the workshop participants buoyancy and photography etiquette skills. They did a great job with some amazing photos to show for it.

Continuing my underwater photography workshop at CoralEyebangka we had two wonderful macro dives today full of both large and pygmy seahorses (Pontoon and Bargibanti), and of course, because we were shooting macro, a dugong gave us a swim past!!!

Today's tasks on my underwater photo workshop at CoralEyebangka was mostly about wide angle, although with so many macro subjects it's hard to resist! Many participants are using the Olympus TG-6 or 7 with a wide angle wet lens, which they can remove underwater to shoot macro. We visited a derelict pearl farm today and dived under the jetty legs which were covered in beautiful soft corals, followed by a muck dive nearby.

All photos taken with an Olympus TG-6 with 1 x INON S-220 strobe and without a wide angle lens.

As part of my underwater photo workshop at CoralEyebangka, we took a 3 tank day trip to Bunaken Marine Park and visited the beautiful Siladen Resort & Spa for a delicious lunch between dives. We only saw 18 huge green turtles on one of the wall dives! 😉 😉. A fantastic day diving on some of the world's healthiest reefs!
