土曜日は本当に素晴らしい一日でした。キャリアや人生の目的、そして私たちが歩む旅について、率直に語り合う貴重な時間になりました。夢や情熱、そして多くの問いを抱えた若い皆さんと出会い、自分の歩んできた道の一部を共有できたことを光栄に思います。

これから進む道の一歩一歩を大切にしてください。目的地を目指す勇気を持ちながらも、旅そのものにある美しさや成長を決して見失わないでください。人生は何よりも尊い贈り物であり、その過程のすべてが意味を持っています。

これからも、皆さんとつながり続けられたら嬉しく思います。

Saturday was truly a remarkable day — a space for honest conversations about career, purpose, and the journey we’re all on. I felt honored to share a part of my story with young people filled with dreams, drive, and meaningful questions.

As you move forward, embrace every step of your path. Chase your destination with courage, but never lose sight of the beauty and growth found in the journey itself. Life is our greatest gift, and every moment along the way matters.

I would be delighted to stay connected with all of you as you continue shaping your futures.

🌸 30,000 sakuras in one breathtaking view 🌸
This year’s pilgrimage to Mount Yoshino was nothing short of magical. We arrived before 5am thinking we’d be early… but the mountain was already packed with Japanese photographers who had clearly camped out overnight to claim the perfect spot. That’s how legendary this view is.

Parking only fits around 15 cars, so we ended up improvising a bit — but somehow still found ourselves incredibly close to the dream viewpoint. Sometimes the photography gods are kind.

I went with my dear friends Lopes and Miyuki. Years ago they were my students, and now we meet every spring to chase light, color, and the quiet joy of creating together. It’s become our tradition, and one of my favorite parts of the season.

🌄 About Mount Yoshino
Mount Yoshino (吉野山) in Nara is Japan’s most iconic cherry blossom destination, famous for its shidarezakura and yamazakura trees planted across the slopes for over 1,300 years. The mountain is divided into four zones — Shimo Senbon, Naka Senbon, Kami Senbon, and Oku Senbon — each blooming at slightly different times, creating a layered pink tapestry that feels almost unreal. No wonder it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a dream for photographers from all over the world.

Every time I stand there, surrounded by thousands of blossoms, I’m reminded why we wake up at impossible hours and carry heavy gear up mountains. Moments like this are worth every step.

そもそも、私たちにとって2025年とはどのような一年だったのでしょうか。
私たちはより幸せだったでしょうか。笑顔や愛情、そして視野を広げることができたでしょうか。新しい友人と出会い、そして何より、すでに私たちのそばを歩んでくれていた人たちを大切にできたでしょうか。古くからの絆を深め、時の流れや慌ただしさから身を守る安らぎの場へと育てることができたでしょうか。

夢の中にあった場所へ足を運ぶことを、自分に許せたでしょうか。たとえその一部が、心の内にしか存在しなかったとしても。思い出に声を与え、不安を静めてくれる、そんな愛する音楽に耳を傾ける時間を持てたでしょうか。愛する人たちと、かけがえのない贈り物である「時間」を分かち合い、より多くの時を共に過ごせたでしょうか。

もしその答えが「はい」なら、疑う余地はありません。2025年は、良き一年でした。心から生き、深く感じ、そして分かち合った一年だったのです。

では、2026年はどうなるのでしょうか。さらに前へ進む一年でありますように。私たちを幸せにしてくれたすべてを繰り返し、そしてその先へと踏み出す勇気を持てますように。新たな達成、新たな出会い、新たな学び、そして新しく生まれる夢が訪れますように。挑戦する勇気と、感謝する心を決して失いませんように。

2025年の歩みと、その中で得た学びに杯を掲げ、希望と期待を胸に、2026年がもたらすすべてを迎え入れましょう。光と躍動、そして実りに満ちた一年となりますように

彼らの目を通して： 移民と帰属に関するエッセイ」というシリーズのスナップ写真です。いくつかの写真は、8月30日に浜松のZIVAでcoletaneacultural と共に展示されました。そして今度は、2025年9月20日と21日に大阪万博のブラジル館で展示される予定です。日本での自身の活動の一部を表すこれらの写真を展示できることは、非常に光栄であり、また特権でもあります。

This is a series of snaps called Through Their Eyes: An Essay on Immigration and Belonging. Some of the photos were presented with at ZIVA in Hamamatsu last August 30th. Now it will be presented at Brazilian Pavillion next sept 20th and 21th at OSAKAEXPO 2025. it is an honor and a privilege to show there these images that represents some of my works here in Japan.

Estas são fotos da série “Através dos Seus Olhos: Ensaios sobre Migração e Pertencimento”. Algumas das fotografias foram exibidas com na ZVA em Hamamatsu, no dia 30 de agosto.
