Genoa, Italy, 1–3 October 2025.
Following reports that the Global Sumud Flotilla had been intercepted by the Israeli Defense Forces in international waters off the Gaza Strip, Genoa — alongside cities worldwide — responded with sit-ins, blockades, strikes, and public rallies. Dockworkers, activists, and citizens mobilized across the city, turning ports, streets, and squares into spaces of protest and collective dissent.
1. - 2. GENOA, ITALY — OCTOBER 01, 2025: As news breaks that the Global Sumud Flotilla has been intercepted, people gather at the intersection between the Port of Genoa and the city, lighting a symbolic bonfire that remains lit for three days alongside the sit-in.
