A jaguar on land is impressive. A jaguar in the water? A whole different level. 🐆

Watching that powerful body glide through the river, with such effortless control, was enough to give us chills.

Built for the forest. At home in the water. And a reminder of just how formidable these cats are.

One of the things I love about wildlife photography is that you never really know what the next few minutes will bring.

We were cruising along the river in the Pantanal when we spotted him, tucked away beneath a tree on the riverbank. At first glance, he could easily have been missed, his coat blending so beautifully with the surroundings.

But there he was. A jaguar, completely at ease, enjoying a quiet moment in his own little corner of the wild.

No dramatic movement, no hunt, no rush. Just a chance encounter that reminded me why I love being out there with my camera.

Two jaguars, moving closer to each other, settling into their own little world, completely unbothered by everything around them.

As a photographer, you spend years hoping for moments like these. You plan the trips, carry the gear, learn to be patient, and remind yourself that nothing in the wild is ever guaranteed.

And when it finally happens, you almost forget about the photograph you’re trying to take. You just want to take it all in.

The Sierra Madre Sparrow make you work a little harder for the excitement of spotting them!

With its subtle earthy colours and a habitat limited to the high-altitude grasslands of Mexico, it's a bird that can easily blend into its surroundings.

What makes this little sparrow fascinating to me is its rarity. A reminder that some of the most memorable sightings in the wild come in the most understated forms.

The run-up is almost as beautiful as the flight itself!

Watching a flamingo take off is quite a sight. A few quick steps across the water, wings spread wide, those incredibly long legs trailing behind, and suddenly it's airborne.

I particularly loved capturing this moment just after takeoff, with those gorgeous pink and black wings on full display.

A tiny bird, a thousand wingbeats, and a very small window to get the shot!

Photographing this female Broad-billed Hummingbird was all about timing. One moment she's hovering, the next she's already moved. And somewhere in between, I managed to freeze these two beautiful moments.

Those delicate wings, the long bill and that little flash of green - so much beauty packed into such a tiny bird!

I almost love this kind of light more than a perfectly bright frame.

The Changeable Hawk-Eagle was sitting quietly in the fading light, and as I looked through the lens, its feathers seemed to come alive against the darkness.

A large bird of prey, but in this frame, it was the details that caught me.

The Shikra is India's most widespread small hawk - and one of its most underrated.

Quick, agile, built for the chase. That hooked beak and those razor talons aren't for show. Sasan Gir's forest gave this one the perfect stage and it knew exactly how to use it.

This is the kind of frame I wait for.

A Peregrine Falcon at the Little Rann of Kutch, caught just as it opened its wings - every feather, every pattern, frozen for a fraction of a second.

Shot at 1/4000 sec, ISO 640.

We photograph them because they fascinate us.
We protect them because they matter.

This World Animal Day, a reminder to see the world through their eyes and leave enough of it for them to call home.
