Nag Panchami
is a beautiful reminder of the relationship between our culture, nature, and the wildlife that has always shared this land with us.

This Spectacled Cobra (Naja naja) is one of the most fascinating and misunderstood snakes found across India. For many people, seeing a cobra immediately brings fear. But behind that fear is an animal simply trying to survive, find food, avoid danger, and continue its place in the natural world.

Cobra or not, every snake has an important role to play in our ecosystem. By naturally controlling rodents and other prey, snakes help maintain a healthy balance in nature. They are not our enemies, and they do not exist to harm us.

On Nag Panchami, instead of celebrating snakes only through rituals, let’s also celebrate them by understanding them.

If a snake enters your home or surroundings, don’t try to kill it, catch it, or handle it yourself. Keep a safe distance and contact a trained snake rescuer whenever possible.

We don’t have to love every wild animal.
We don’t even have to get close to them.

Sometimes, respect simply means allowing them to live. 🌿🐍

Because the real meaning of conservation is not just protecting the animals we find beautiful — it is giving every living creature a place in the ecosystem.

This Nag Panchami, let’s choose awareness over fear, compassion over cruelty, and conservation over conflict.

International Wolf Day | Celebrating the Indian Grey Wolf

Every time I see an Indian Grey Wolf in the wild, I am reminded of how little we truly understand about the lives of the animals around us.

They live quietly, often unnoticed, across some of India’s open grasslands and dry landscapes. They travel long distances, raise their young, hunt, rest, and survive in places where life itself can be challenging. There is no dramatic roar or attention-seeking behaviour—just a wild animal trying to live its life in the only way it knows.

Over the years, watching wolves has become much more than photography for me. Spending time observing them has taught me to appreciate the small things—the way they communicate, the way a pack moves together, the patience before a hunt, and the incredible awareness they have of everything happening around them.

But their future is not guaranteed.

As grasslands are converted, roads expand, human activity increases, and natural prey becomes harder to find, wolves are forced closer to people. And when conflict happens, it is often the wolf that pays the price.

The Indian Grey Wolf deserves to be understood before it is judged.

It deserves healthy grasslands, enough space to move, natural prey to survive on, and the freedom to exist without being persecuted.

On International Wolf Day, my hope is simple: that we learn to see the wolf not as something to fear, but as an important part of India’s natural heritage.

Because when we lose the wolf, we don’t just lose one species.
We lose a part of the wild that can never truly be replaced.

Keep the grasslands alive.
Protect the prey.
Protect the wolf. 🐺🌾

Let them live wild. Let them run free.

There are few moments in nature that leave you completely speechless. Watching a wild tiger emerge silently from the forest is one of them.

I was fortunate to witness and photograph this magnificent animal in the forests of Tadoba. No zoo, no enclosure, no photograph can truly capture the feeling of seeing a tiger where it belongs—free, confident, and ruling its own kingdom. It is a reminder that we are merely visitors in a world that has existed long before us.

Every tiger carries the responsibility of keeping an entire ecosystem in balance. As an apex predator, its presence reflects the health of the forest. Where tigers survive, forests flourish. Where forests flourish, rivers, birds, insects, and countless other species continue to thrive. In protecting the tiger, we protect an entire web of life—including our own future.

Behind every thriving tiger population are the tireless efforts of forest guards, researchers, conservationists, local communities, and wildlife lovers who dedicate their lives to protecting these incredible animals. Their work often goes unseen, but it is the reason future generations may still hear the roar of a tiger in the wild.

As a wildlife photographer, my goal has never been just to capture beautiful images. Every photograph is an opportunity to inspire respect, create awareness, and remind people why these forests matter. If even one image encourages someone to care more deeply about wildlife, then the journey into the forest has been worthwhile.

On this International Tiger Day, let’s celebrate not only the beauty and strength of the tiger, but also our shared responsibility to protect its home. The greatest gift we can give these magnificent animals is not admiration—it is a future where they continue to roam free.

The wild doesn’t need us to control it. It needs us to protect it.

“Every rescue has a story, and some stories carry colors that seem almost impossible to believe. 💙🐍

On 19 March, we rescued this extraordinary Blue Morph Green Keelback and ensured it was safe from harm. At first glance, many people assume the colors are edited or artificial, but this beautiful blue coloration is completely natural and is one of the rare color variations found in this species.

Since most Green Keelbacks are usually green, olive, or brownish in appearance, I have added a photograph of a normal morph Green Keelback in the next slide so everyone can understand how this species commonly looks in the wild and appreciate just how unique this individual truly is.

Wildlife constantly reminds us that nature does not always follow the rules we expect. Sometimes it creates individuals that stand apart from the rest, turning an already beautiful species into something truly unforgettable.

After the rescue, and with the support and guidance of the Forest Department, this beautiful snake was safely released back into its natural habitat where it belongs — free to continue its journey in the wild. 🌿

Rescue work is not about keeping wildlife; it is about giving them another chance and returning them safely to nature. Seeing this rare blue beauty disappear back into the forest was a reminder of why every rescue matters.
