She arrived in head-to-toe colour. Every single bit of it her own choice.
I’ve been asked before whether I require families to coordinate their outfits. The honest answer is no and sessions like this are exactly why.
When she walked in wearing what she wanted, she was confident. She was herself. And that came through in every single frame.
Now imagine we’d put her in something neutral to match everyone else. There’s a good chance she’d have been uncomfortable, disengaged and the whole energy would have shifted.
I’m not saying coordination doesn’t work, sometimes it’s lovely. But what I’ve found, consistently, is that when people dress like themselves, they feel like themselves. And that’s when the photos actually come alive.
Wear what makes you feel good. Let the kids have a say.
