The Ladies Walk in Ballyduff is a special place.

I’ve offered a print of it for years now but one of my favourite ways to experience it is on a wet late summer or early autumn day, with the trees alive with leaves. There’s something so peaceful about the trickle of water down from the leaves and the dance of the rain across the tree line. Moments like this shot which will feature in my 2027 calendar, which is now available for order.

Stocks are due mid November and will ship shortly thereafter.

10 Years ago this month I launched my very first photography calendar, and to say it’s been overwhelming to have had support from people like you since is an understatement.

As I mark the 10th Anniversary I’m happy to share that the latest edition of the Jerry Lane Photography Calendar is now available to order. It will begin shipping mid-late November. As a subscriber you have first access to order what will be a limited run of calendars.

To start, here are a few things to note:

• Prices remain the same as last year: €22.50 for 1, €100 for 5, €195 for 10.

• The same great quality you’ve come to expect will continue, with ample room for notes as always.

• Stocks will be strictly limited due to personal commitments so get your order in early.

• Collections will be available as always at an agreed upon time and location. While checkout will show you my address, please wait for me to contact you first to arrange a time/date/location.

• Lastly, and to avoid repeats of last year, please do not call to my parents house looking for calendars, they have none. I have my own place in Bromore and collections can be arranged from there or in Ballybunion / North Kerry as always. Thanks for all of the support.

Hi all, a quick little update today. Following a recent customer change of mind this beautiful canvas print of Coastal Reflections sized at 90cm x 60cm is in stock and available at a reduced price of €275.00. This canvas print is ready to hang and looks lovely - it would make an ideal piece of feature for a wall in a bright room or hallway. Like all canvas prints is best viewed at a reasonable distance and the textured finish doesn’t allow for the same level of detail as say a fine art or traditional photo print.

If you’re interested please message me and I’ll follow up. First come, first serve. I will be adding canvas prints in the coming months as an option on the website and am in the process of reviewing my prices for the foreseeable future, as following numerous conversations with fellow photographers, print partners, and others, it’s clear that my markups and pricing doesn’t really lend itself to a sustainable business. 😅

No market this weekend due to a poor weather forecast.

Hi all, unfortunately we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel this weekend’s market due to the weather conditions that are forecast. It has not been an easy decision but in the interest of health and safety we feel that this is the right decision to make. We will be back next Sunday, June 14 and hope to see you all there.

A gorgeous early May sunset on Ballybunion beach this past Monday evening.

This shot was a 5-second exposure where my intent was to focus on capturing the water ebbing and flowing at the shoreline. All while the golden light of the setting sun lit the jagged lines of the cliffs and the castle.

It was a lovely end to the - Festival of Meditation, Ocean, Yoga & Art Festival.

I'm excited for more evenings like this in the weeks and months ahead.

I love the natural colours that nature gives us. I love the vibrancy and richness of it all, and the nuances that it shows as the sun moves from east to west. That said, I'm partial to a quick black and white edit it from time to time; it strips the scene back to light and dark, highlight and shadow. It casts a timelessness and an often ethereal nature to a moment. Here are two snapshots from last Monday's session on Ballybunion beach. What are your thoughts on black and white shots?

Time | At the Shoreline - May 4th, 2026.

It felt fantastic to be back out making photographs on Sunday evening. A bunch of things didn’t work out, and a few did. For my first evening back behind the lens in a long time I decided to try capture the feeling of standing on the shore at sunset, still, and taking in the ebb & flow of the water along the shoreline. This is a 2 second exposure and captures the white foamy waves lapping up and receding back along the shoreline nicely. The setting sun cast gorgeous light across the cliffs & castle and there’s a calmness and cosiness to the shot for me. This is one of two shots from this vantage point which I’ll be sharing and offering for sale in due course. I’ll update my stories when they’re available. I’d like to thank everyone who visited us at the market on Sunday too. It was a great day!

I have 2 bits of exciting news to share tonight. The first, I’m back doing markets for the 2026 season here in Ballybunion!

The second, it all kicks off this weekend at ’s oh so fantastic Family Day. (Swipe for details!). I’ll have mounted prints and greeting cards this weekend, and as we head into weekly markets from the end of May there’ll be framed prints and more to follow. Plus, new work coming your way.

The last few years have been too busy doing too much that in truth hasn’t been refilling my cup. I’ve grown a lot, learned a lot about my regular job, met loads of great new people. Along the way I’ve left myself get too busy, over extended myself, and lost a bit of myself and the connection to many things I have loved - photography, guitar, exercising regularly, to name a few - along the way. This summer and the months and years ahead are about correcting those paths back to minding myself and fulfilling the goals I share with my wonderful partner in this life, Emma.

Here’s to what’s ahead. I hope to see some of you at MOYA and in the months ahead.

Shannon Gold | Last night’s sunset caught briefly from the front garden with the phone. What a privilege to be able to end a day with a view to Loop Head and the seemingly endless horizon of the Atlantic beyond.
