The Irish Jay – One of Ireland’s Most Striking Birds!

🌿 Brilliantly colorful, the jay stands out as one of Ireland’s most stunning woodland birds.
🔊 Master mimic, it can imitate other birds and even human sounds—most commonly, the buzzard’s call! Thats what I hear most of the time anyway.
🌰 Nature’s tree planter, a single jay can bury thousands of acorns, helping forests thrive.
🧠 A memory like no other, it recalls hidden food months later with incredible accuracy.
Jay’s striking blue wing patch, with its black-banded feathers, was historically prized for making fishing flies, and been used in millinery-hat making industry.
A true forest guardian! 🍂🌳

Red squirrels don’t defy gravity—but they do deserve our respect.

The squirrels I photograph never see me because I always use a hide. Why? Because even with such adorable animals, it’s crucial they stay wild. Hand-feeding may seem harmless, but it makes them dependent and less cautious—something that can put them at risk. The squirrels I observe remain shy and careful, just as nature intended. Let’s admire them without changing their natural instincts!
