Damien & Monita travelled all the way from New Zealand to celebrate their wedding with family and friends at the beautiful Ballyseede Castle, and from the moment I arrived, you could feel just how much this day meant to everyone.
The Irish weather had other ideas, and what was meant to be an outdoor ceremony became an equally beautiful indoor one. After the summer we've had, I don't think we can complain too much... although I was definitely keeping one eye on the sky all day!

The emotions throughout the morning were impossible to ignore.

Monita shared something with me that instantly put everything into perspective. The incredible dress she wore had been lovingly handmade by her late mum. As she spoke about it, her eyes began to fill with tears. It wasn't just a dress. It was a piece of her mum, there with her on one of the biggest days of her life.

And that love was woven throughout the entire wedding.

Her mum loved birds, so a tiny hummingbird charm was attached to Monita's bouquet. Her brother wore a matching hummingbird pendant. There were little reminders everywhere that the people we love never really leave us.
Despite the rain, the day absolutely burst with colour. Monita, her sisters, the flower girls, every outfit, every detail... it all reflected such a vibrant celebration of two families coming together. I honestly couldn't get over how beautiful everything looked.

Meanwhile, Damien slipped straight back into old friendships as if he'd never left Ireland. Watching him and his best man fall back into years of messing and laughter was brilliant. Living on the other side of the world hadn't changed a thing.

One moment that really stayed with me was when a song quietly brought Damien's sister back to a memory that clearly meant the world to her. No words were needed. Just a few tears and a room full of people who understood exactly what that moment meant.
These are the moments I love photographing.
Not because they're perfect.

Because they're REAL!

To be recommended to photograph a wedding because of word of mouth is an incredible feeling.

When I arrived at the beautiful 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐓 𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐋 that morning, the bridal party was already in full swing. The craic was flowing, the laughs had started, and I just slid straight in and became one of the gang.

That's always my aim. If I can keep the energy high and the laughs coming, the nerves don't stand a chance. Before long, it feels less like a photographer turning up for work and more like old friends spending the day together.

That's exactly how it felt with Caitlin and Jason.

No matter what I suggested, the answer was always, "Yeah, let's do it." They were up for anything, and that trust let us create some incredible moments together.

We were spoiled with the weather, and the grounds at 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐓 𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐋 are stunning. A field beside the venue gave us the most beautiful sunset, and it finished off what was already a magical day.

There were so many moments I could have chosen for this carousel, but one stands out.

As Caitlin reached the top of the aisle and sat beside Jason, I couldn't hear what was said between them... but I don't think I needed to.

I'd imagine it went something like...

"Well... how do I look?"

Jason's expression answered the question before he ever opened his mouth. Completely gobsmacked. His face said everything about how he felt seeing his wife sitting beside him.

Moments like that can't be posed. They're over in a heartbeat, and they're the ones that people treasure for the rest of their lives.

Editing Jason & Caitlin's wedding, and remember this image as I was shooting it.

Jason's mum looking at him as his now wife is making her walk down the aisle.
Her look is one of how proud she is of him, Jason's is complete, his gentle look on his face knows he is marrying his best friend.

Combine it all together, the brides walk, the look from mum towards her son.

It is a powerhouse of a moment. Soon I will be able yo share with ye, this amazing wedding.

Some weddings are remembered for the venue.
Some for the weather.
This one will stay with me because of the people.

From the moment I arrived, Jane and Niall's bridal party brought a level of energy that never disappeared. There was laughter from morning until night, the kind that spreads through everyone around it.

We wandered through Bunratty Castle, where even a few tourists ended up becoming part of the fun. Nothing felt forced. Just great people enjoying one of the biggest days of their lives under a beautiful summer sky.

One thing that stood out all day was the friendships. This is a group who have clearly grown up together, know each other inside out, and have always been there when it mattered. You could see it in every laugh, every hug and every look across the room.

Back at Hotel Woodstock, the celebrations only gathered pace. The dance floor filled, the atmosphere lifted another level, and it was impossible not to smile watching everyone celebrate two genuinely wonderful people.
Jane and Niall, thank you for letting me tell your story. It was a privilege to spend the day with you all, and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together.

Some weddings stay with you because of the venue or the photographs.
This one will stay with me because of the people.
From the moment I arrived, Nicole and Ray made me feel like part of the family. By the end of the day, it honestly felt like I'd spent the day with friends.

One moment summed everything up perfectly. As Nicole walked up the aisle with her dad and little Paddy, he suddenly decided he'd had enough... and lay down in the middle of the church aisle. 😂 Nicole simply stepped over him and carried on. The whole church burst into laughter, and every last nerve disappeared.

The day was full of love, laughter and family. Their four beautiful children were at the heart of every moment, and Nicole's handmade floral arrangements were the perfect finishing touch. 🌸

After some relaxed portraits just outside Leap, we headed back to nighthawksfishandchips where the laughter, magic and celebrations carried on long into the evening.
Nicole & Ray, thank you for making me feel like one of the family. It was an absolute privilege to tell your story.

Some weddings are emotional.

Some are elegant.

And then there are weddings like Vanessa & James'... where everyone spends half the day laughing.

The legal ceremony had already been taken care of, which meant one of their closest friends could lead a ceremony that was completely personal to them. It was heartfelt, brilliantly funny, and had everyone in stitches from beginning to end.

Vanessa travelled from Germany to Ireland years ago, met James, and somewhere along the way their story began. Watching the two of them together, it's hard to imagine it any other way.

The sunshine certainly did its part too. Courtmacsherry looked like a postcard all day long. Looking across the harbour, it felt like one of those places where life slows down for a while and you simply breathe.

One of my favourite things about this wedding was how naturally everything unfolded.

The day started exactly how Vanessa and James had asked for it... relaxed, documentary and full of genuine moments. Hardly any posing. Just people enjoying themselves.

Then something funny happened.

As everyone relaxed, nobody cared about the camera anymore.

Suddenly people were shouting ideas, pulling faces, lifting James onto their shoulders, making Vanessa laugh until she could barely stand, and creating photographs that couldn't possibly have been planned.

That's always the sweet spot.

When everyone forgets they're having photographs taken.

A massive thank you to the incredible staff at Courtmacsherry Hotel for looking after everyone so well throughout the day. Huge thanks as well to both families and every single guest who made the atmosphere what it was. You all played a part in making this one unforgettable.

Two guys who were so relaxed on the day of their own wedding they took it in their stride. The weather the last week and for the foreseeable future is hot, and out in the open there is no escape from the sun when their is very little cloud around. But we made the best of it laughing away and creating memories.
