Over the last few months Ive been photographing the beautiful recipes (101 of them!) of Marie O’Callaghan for a wonderful Cookbook in aid of Down Syndrome Limerick. It has been a labour of love for all involved with everyone volunteering their time and ALL proceeds of sales going to DSL.

Proud to announce that I’ve been selected by Screen Irelands National Talent Academies to be one of the initial cohort to be trained in the new Access Coordinator role being developed by the organisation.

The Access Coordinator is an emerging professional role in the Irish film and television industry, with Screen Ireland’s National Talent Academies introducing dedicated training in September.

The role acts as a bridge between production and Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent cast and crew, identifying barriers and helping productions put appropriate access arrangements in place from greenlight through to post-production. As the role becomes established in Ireland, the first cohort of trained Access Coordinators has an opportunity to help shape how accessibility is embedded into Irish screen production practice.

So it’s a bit of a ground breaking position in Ireland and all very exciting! Onwards!
