A hawthorn shield bug on a sunflower 🌻 I like the autumn coloured background 😅 I'm sooooooo over summer. I was over it before it even started tbh. I just want the cooler days of autumn so bad right now. Not long until the world looks like 🍂🦊🎃🍁🦔🌰🤎🧡 again! 🤞

A little selection of the damselflies I've seen this spring and summer ✨️ I love these silly creatures so, so much! I look forward to seeing them emerge every April. Serotonin floods my body when I spot my first one of the year! And it just so happens that the first one I saw and photographed this year, ended up on the cover of a magazine (!!!!) Making this year's first extra special 💙 They're coming to an end now, at least where I live anyway. It's sad they're not around all year 🥲 they're basically limited-edition aliens and I love that for them! 🥹

I found 15 hibernating butterlfies while moving furniture! 🥹 Small tortoiseshell butterflies enter a dormant stage called diapause during the winter months. It's very common for them to over-winter in our homes. All these butterflies were under this furniture since around November 2025! They should have woken up in Feb/March this year, but were in a very hard spot to get out of and many had their wings immobilised by cobwebs. Many of them woke up when I discovered them and happily flew off into the sunshine! 🥹🥹

This comma butterfly has been hanging around the same spot in my garden for the last few days and I'm thoroughly enjoying hanging out with them every day 🥹 I rarely see commas in general, and this is the first time I've seen one in my own garden! 🧡 This one is super "friendly" and flies around me a lot and likes to land on my legs 🥲 There's a corner of my garden with a massive bramble bush that's in the sunlight all day long, towards the end of summer it's always covered in red admirals. Hopefully this is the start of more commas joining the admirals this year! 🤞 They're called comma butterflies because of the distinctive white comma-shaped marking on the underside of their wings, do you see it? It's adorable 🥹

Ruby-tailed wasp ✨️ Aren't they sooooooo pretty? 🥹🥹 I don't see them very often, but it's always an absolute joy when I do. They're NOT easy to photograph as they're always moving so fast and are pretty small. But this one was fairly chill and I was able to get a lil photo! 💙🥰
