One of the questions Iā€™m asked most often isā€¦
ā€œWhen should we book our newborn session?ā€

The answer surprises a lot of parents.
The best time to book is actually after your 20-week scan, while youā€™re still pregnant.

Why?
šŸ¤ Youā€™ll have the best choice of dates.
šŸ¤ I only photograph a limited number of newborns each month.
šŸ¤ Your session isnā€™t booked for a fixed dayā€”itā€™s reserved based on your due date, so thereā€™s plenty of flexibility if baby arrives early or decides to keep everyone waiting!

Most newborn sessions take place within the first two to three weeks after birth, but donā€™t worry if your baby is already here. I regularly photograph older newborns too, and they can be just as beautiful.

Such a gorgeous little lady to have in the studio. Those tiny features, squishy cheeks and all the lovely little newborn details that change before you know it.

These early weeks really do pass in a blur, which is why I love being able to freeze just a tiny piece of them for families to keep.

I only have 4 newborn session spaces remaining in August, and September is already starting to fill too.

When you book with me, we don't choose a fixed session date. Instead, I reserve space around your due date, so when your baby arrives, we'll arrange the perfect day for your session. It takes all the pressure off if your little one decides to arrive early or keep you waiting!

Out of all the babies Iā€™ve photographed over the past 15 years, there are certain images that have always stayed with me.

This is one of them.

Not because it won an award.
Not because it was technically the most difficult photograph Iā€™ve ever taken.

Simply because every time I look at it, it makes me smile.
Sometimes itā€™s the tiny expression.
Sometimes itā€™s the way a babyā€™s little hand curls around a finger.
Sometimes itā€™s just a feeling.

Photographs have a wonderful way of taking us straight back to a moment in time, and I hope this family still feels exactly the same every time they see this image hanging on their wall.

Almost three years ago to the day, Leo first came into the studio as a tiny newbornā€¦ and now heā€™s back! šŸ¤

Safe to say, heā€™s still got the main character energy šŸ˜‚ and this time he brought his gorgeous new baby sister, Nora, along with him.

Thereā€™s something really special about welcoming families back when a new little one arrives. Seeing those tiny newborns I photographed a few years ago suddenly walking back through the door as big brothers and sisters will never get old.

There really isn't a bigger compliment than hearing a family say they felt completely at ease in my
studio.
Beautiful photographs are always the goal, but I also want every family to leave feeling relaxed, looked
after and knowing their baby has been cared for every step of the way.
Reading reviews like this reminds me why I love what I do.

One of the things I hear most often from parents is...
"I was so worried my baby wouldn't settle."
If that's something you're thinking too, you're definitely not alone.
The first few weeks with a newborn are a whirlwind of feeds, very little sleep and wondering if you're
doing everything right. The idea of coming to a photo session can sometimes feel like one more thing
to manage.
That's why every newborn session in my studio is completely baby-led.
There's no rush. We stop whenever your baby needs feeding, changing or simply a cuddle. Most parents
end up sitting back with a coffee, taking a breath and enjoying watching their little one being
photographed.
Some babies sleep for most of the session.
Some stay awake for a while before drifting off.
Both are absolutely perfect.
My job is to work with your baby, never against them, so the experience feels just as special as the
photographs themselves.
If you're expecting a little one this autumn, now is the perfect time to book your newborn session. Most
families reserve their session after their 20-week scan.
