A little peek at this beautiful newborn session, with the prettiest palette of soft, dusty purples.

One of the things I love about a full newborn session is the variety we can create while keeping everything feeling cohesive. From snug wrapped poses and tiny details to those lovely sleepy newborn portraits - and, of course, a few wide awake moments when baby decides they would quite like to see what’s going on.

Every session is baby led, so there is never any pressure for your baby to sleep on cue. We work around them, taking our time and moving through the session at their pace.

If you’re expecting a baby and would like to find out more about newborn photography at my Greystones studio, send me a message or have a look at the newborn information through the link in my bio.

"I hate having my photo taken."

It's probably the sentence I hear most before a branding session.

Closely followed by...

"I never know what to do with my hands."

"I just want to look like me."

And that's exactly the point.

Your branding photos shouldn't make you look like a different person. They should simply show the best version of the person your clients are going to meet.

Professional. Approachable. Confident. Authentic.

Whether you're updating your website, refreshing your social media or launching a new business, your photographs should help people feel like they already know you before they ever get in touch.

You don't need to know how to pose or have any experience in front of a camera. I'll guide you through every step, so you leave with a gallery of images that feel natural, polished and unmistakably you.

If you've been putting off updating your business photos, let's change that.

One of the biggest worries I hear from expectant mums is...

"I don't know how to pose."

"I don't feel photogenic."

"What if I don't look good?"

The truth is, you don't need to know what to do. That's my job.

From the moment you arrive at the studio, I'll guide you through every pose, every hand placement and every little adjustment. I'll help you stand in ways that flatter your changing body, use lighting that highlights your beautiful bump, and photograph you from angles that help you feel confident and comfortable.

Pregnancy changes your body in so many ways, and it's completely normal to feel different in front of the camera. My goal isn't to make you look like someone else. It's to create timeless images that celebrate this incredible chapter exactly as it is.

All you need to do is bring your bump.

I'll take care of the rest.

If you're looking for a maternity photographer in Wicklow who will guide you every step of the way, I'd love to hear from you.

This little one is completely lost in dreams, cuddled up with a tiny knitted teddy and wrapped in one of my favourite colour palettes, Perfect Purples.

The soft lilac tones, delicate textures and peaceful pose create such a timeless portrait, allowing all the focus to stay on your beautiful new baby. It's a classic look that never goes out of style and is always a favourite with parents.

If you've been thinking about booking a newborn session, I have a last-minute opening available next week. Newborn sessions are ideally held within the first two weeks after birth, but if your little one has already arrived and you'd love to capture these fleeting early days, now is the perfect opportunity.

If you're looking for a newborn photographer in Wicklow, send me a message to check availability and reserve this final space.

Every family I photograph has something they're worried about before their session.

"What if the children don't behave?"

"What if nobody smiles?"

"What if we feel awkward in front of the camera?"

The truth is, those worries are completely normal.

Children don't have to sit perfectly still. They don't need to smile on cue. Your family doesn't need to look like they've stepped out of a magazine.

Some of my favourite photographs have come from the unexpected moments - the giggles after someone pulls a funny face, the cuddles when a little one needs reassurance, the way siblings naturally lean into one another, or the quiet moments in between.

My job isn't to make your family look perfect.

My job is to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable enough to simply be themselves. I guide you throughout the session, work at your children's pace, and know when to turn the chaos into genuine connection.

So if you've been putting off booking a family photography session because you're worried your children won't cooperate, I promise you're in very good company.

Just show up together. I'll take care of the rest.

If you're looking for a family photographer in Wicklow who understands that real families aren't perfect, I'd love to welcome you to the studio.

Send me a message to find out more or book your session.

One of my favourite newborn poses to photograph is the womb pose.

Curled up just as they were before they were born, this pose beautifully captures how tiny your baby really is during those first precious days. Those little hands, tucked-up feet and peaceful expression are all reminders of just how new they are.

Not every baby is comfortable in every pose, which is why every newborn session is completely baby-led. I gently guide each baby into poses that are safe, natural and comfortable for them, never forcing a position that doesn't feel right.

The womb pose is one I come back to time and time again because it's timeless, elegant and perfectly celebrates this fleeting stage of life.

If you're expecting and would love beautiful, classic newborn photographs like this, it's best to book your session during pregnancy to reserve space in the first few weeks after your baby's arrival. Find out more at https://sheenagriffinphotography.ie/newborn/

Things new parents worry about - but don't need to. ❤

If you're thinking about booking a newborn session, I can almost guarantee you've wondered at least one of these.

"What if baby won't settle?"
"What if they cry the whole time?"
"What if we spend the whole session feeding?"
"What if I'm exhausted?"

The truth is... all of those things are completely normal.

As a newborn photographer, I've worked with hundreds of babies, and no two sessions are ever the same. Some babies sleep from start to finish. Some need lots of cuddles and feeding breaks. Some stay awake for a while before drifting off.

That's why I never rush.

Your session is led by your baby, not by the clock. We pause whenever they're hungry, unsettled or simply need to be close to you. There is no pressure to have the "perfect" baby, because they already are.

And if you're running on very little sleep, that's okay too. You don't need to entertain your baby or worry about getting them to cooperate before you arrive.

Your only job is to bring your baby.

I'll take care of the rest.

If you've been putting off booking because one of these worries has been sitting in the back of your mind, send me a message. I'm always happy to answer your questions before you book.

WHAT TO WEAR FRIDAYS

Welcome back to another edition of What to Wear Fridays, my weekly styling series designed to help make choosing outfits for your family photographs that little bit easier.

This week's inspiration combines soft sage green, warm cream, pale blue and gentle floral tones. It's a palette that feels fresh, elegant and relaxed, while still looking polished enough for a studio portrait session.

One of the things I love most about this combination is the variety. Some family members are wearing solid colours, others have subtle florals or textured fabrics, but everything works together because the colours sit within the same soft palette.

This is a great example of how larger family groups can coordinate without looking overly matched. The sage green acts as the anchor colour, while the creams, soft blues and warm neutrals create balance throughout the image.

Notice too how the textures add interest - floaty fabrics, delicate prints and soft cottons all help create depth without distracting from the people in the photograph.

As a family and newborn photographer based in Greystones, Co. Wicklow, I always encourage families to think about their outfits as a collection rather than individual pieces. When the colours and textures work together, the final photographs feel timeless and effortless.

Save this post for future inspiration and let me know if you'd like to see more styling ideas for larger family groups in future editions of What to Wear Fridays.

See you next Friday for more wardrobe inspiration.

Every family has their own rhythm.

The quiet moments, the playful moments, the way siblings make each other laugh, and the little gestures that say everything without a word.

What I love about family portrait sessions is creating a collection of images that captures all of those different connections. Not just the family together, but each child as they are right now, the bond between siblings, and the relationships that make up your family's story.

These portraits may feel like a snapshot of today, but years from now they'll become a reminder of a season that passed far more quickly than it felt at the time.

As a family photographer based in Greystones, Co. Wicklow, my aim is always to create photographs that feel timeless, natural and genuinely reflective of the people in front of the camera.

Which image is your favourite - the family portrait, the sibling portraits, or the individual photographs?

If you've been thinking about updating your family portraits, send me a message and I'd be happy to tell you more about the experience.
