The view from Malin Head to Inishtrahull island and beyond to Islay and Jura in Scotland. On a clear day you can see them even more distinctly. It is a wonderful location to visit on your trip along the Wild Atlantic Way or the Inishowen 100 when visiting our beautiful County of Donegal πŸ˜€

Noctilucent cloud season is upon us. Harder to predict than the Aurora Borealis / Northern Lights. Donegal is the perfect place on a clear Summers night to possibly catch this stunning wonder of Nature! This was from June last year.

Noctilucent (night-shining) clouds are the highest clouds in Earth's atmosphere, forming at the edge of space in the mesosphere. They are composed of tiny ice crystals that gather around space dust. Because of their extreme altitude, they catch sunlight from below the horizon during summer twilights, glowing with a distinct electric blue.

The beautiful view from the steepest road in Ireland, Mamore Gap in Inishowen, County Donegal. The view sweeps from Horn head and Tory island in the West across Fanad, Leenan, Urris and Clonmany then beyond to the most northerly point in Ireland, Malin Head. A stunning drive with breathtaking views on the Inishowen 100, one of Irelands most breathtaking drives along the Wild Atlantic Way.

Fly with me through Mamore Gap in Inishowen, County Donegal. The steepest road in Ireland weaves it's way Northward through the Urris Hills and down towards Leenan Beach, the mouth of Lough Swilly and onwards to Fanad Head. Beautiful from the air but even more thrilling to drive through!

Paragliders in the skies over Buncrana in Inishowen, County Donegal. A colourful sight on calm warm days as they lift off from Fahan Hill. Great craic I'd say! πŸ˜€

Ladies Bay at the Shore Front, Buncrana in Inishowen, County Donegal. The good weather is on it's way and I was so delighted to hear Ladies Bay beach is fully open for business again ☺️ Historically one of the busiest beaches in the town and rightfully so as it is central to the wonderful place known as the "Queen of Donegal", our Buncrana.
