Stumbled across another Buzzard nest this afternoon with a more mature offspring, there's still a few fluffy feathers at the top of it's head. The chick stayed down in the nest for most of the time I was there and just as the sun dropped down and shone through the trees it stood up to have a look around!

They are very shy, even though this is on a 250mm lens and cropped, so I used a trick told me about a while back, put the camera on WiFi mode, hid away out of sight and snapped the photos remotely.

A selection of photos from Friday night/Saturday morning's unbelievable Aurora Borealis display, taken from home, Leenan, Inishowen, Co.Donegal.

Here you can see my Granda's boat, the Realt Fhanada, an old cottage/shop from just down the road, my mum standing admiring the light at the gate across the road, Fanad Lighthouse and the entrance to Lough Swilly, the Corona of the Aurora πŸ‘Œ

I've never seen anything like it πŸ˜€

What a display yesterday, strongest Aurora in 20 years and by god was it strong. In between taking photos I was looking up in complete awe!

First one is beside my neighbours house and old cottage/shop, the second of my Mum standing out the front of our house ☺️

I used a flashlight to light up the foreground for 2-3 seconds of these 8-10 second exposures. Hat tip to for always keeping us updated on Aurora events!

Dunree Fort in the low winter morning light, the fort lit up like this for about 30 seconds between an opening in the clouds. First time I've tried this style of editing! Let me know what you think πŸ€”
